Would you like to explore how tradition and luxury can coexist in the same house? If yes, villa Rogdia is definitely your holiday home. Respecting the traditional architecture of Crete we have restored an old traditional house of 1903 in the center of a picturesquare village. In the meantime, we have added at this house all the modern and luxury elements of a new house in order the guests can have relaxing and peaceful holidays. Villa Rogdia awaits you to experience the Cretan hospitality, tradition and history, as well as pleasurable moments of relaxation and serenity. Villa Rogdia locates at the same property with two other villas, Elia and Myrtia at the center of village Atsipopoulo, which can meet all your first needs. Supermarket, bakery, groceries and butchery shop, cofee shop, restaurants, ATM and pharmacy are all in walking distance (200 metres from the entrance of the villas). However, as you come in from the entrance of the villas, the whole atmosphere changes, as our villas locate inside the nature in a peaceful and ideal for relaxing enviroment. The center of Rethymno is also 5 kilometres away and 10 minutes drive. Villa Rogdia is concstructed in maisonette style, measures 200 m2 and has a private swimming pool and a huge balcony. Moreover,it can host 8 persons in 4 bedrooms. Two of them have a double bed and en suite bathroom and the rest two have two single beds each. On the ground floor you will find the living area with a luxury sitting room, a fireplace, a full-equipped kitchen and a dining area. It also includes a WC, a luxury bathroom with hydromassage, an entertaiment area and a lavatory. The top floor consists of the bedrooms. There are 2 bedrooms with a double bed and en suite bathroom and two bedrooms with a single bed each. Moreover, there is a small bathroom for the single bedrooms, a lavatory and access to the two balconies. The huge one has with a view of the swimming pool, the traditional village nearby and the nature, while the second one has a view of the traditional village. All the rooms are air-conditioned. The villa is equipped with Satellite television, DVD player, CD Player and radio, Coffee machinet, Microwave, Toaster, Dishwasher, Clothes washer, Deposit box, Hair-dryer and Baby cot. The exterior of the villa includes a 27sq. metres private swimming pool, a dining table and seats for all the 8 persons, as well as 8 sunbeds in order you can enjoy the cretan sun. In addition, the villa has its own barbeque facilities for your personal use. The swimming pool of the villa can also be heated with an extra cost of 40 euros per day (upon request at least 7 days before arrival and valid only for the whole booking) The location of the villas are ideal for exploring our whole island. Located in the center of the north part of Crete, only 3 kilometres from the highway provides easy access from the local airports (Heraklion and Chania) and the opportunity to visit from the big cities of the island to the smallest beaches in both north and south part of Crete. Guests will have access and full privacy to all areas indoor and outdoor! We will wait for you in the villa for your arrival (despite the time, even after midnight) in order to help you with the house details and give you as much informations as you want about the area, taverns, shops, places and beaches that you have to visit! Also we will clean the villa and change towels and linen every 3 days! Finally we will be there for your departure for our last thank you! We will be also reachable on our cell phone and e-mails 24/7! Our home locates only 1 kilometer from the villa, so we will be able to come in a few minutes at the villa for anything that you will need. This holiday and Villa was amazing. We arrived quite late in the evening and we’re still greeted by George and his family who had thoughtfully provided sandwiches, pastries and some Raki. George gave us a run through and walk round of this stunning Villa. The Villa is beautiful with plenty of room for our party of 8 people. This Villa has everything you need for a perfect stay The Villa is immaculate and you feel guilty for making any mess but with 6 teeens/young adults this wasn’t easy lol The outside area is where we spent most of our time chilling on the upstairs terrace and enjoying the pool and bbq. The local amenities are sufficient enough to provide you with.most of your daily needs and the local bakery and pizza place are very friendly. We made constant use of the local bus at EUR1.40 taking us into the beautiful town of Rethymon where there is everything you can imagine to complete your perfect holiday. We found everything we needed in the well appointed kitchen. One afternoon we were surprised with a delicious cheese pie from Mary. George was always available via text if we had questions. The Villa is beautiful! We enjoyed the pool very much as well as the very comfortable deck loungers. George helped us prearrange a minivan rental from the Heraklion Airport that went smoothly. It was a special experience to stay in the village. We enjoyed wonderful dinners close to the villa. We are seasoned travelers and have stayed at many VRBO properties. The accommodation was clean, very spacious and ideal for our family and small children . The pool was nice and the two terraces ideal for soaking up the sun. The local shops, supermarket , restaurants and cafes were very close by and we enjoyed our trip to the bakery each morning for the fresh pastries and bread. We could not have asked for a nicer place to stay. I rarely write reviews. I am very particular. This villa is so extraordinary I had to write about it. It is impeccably clean, it is well appointed with all you could need from the kitchen to the living areas. The patios and pool are spectacular. The location is perfect to see many areas of Crete easily. (I would recommend renting a car, the driving is very easy) One of the most amazing things are the hosts of this Villa. George, his mother Maria and George's sister, are kind, gracious, accommodating and at the same time give you plenty of space and privacy. I stayed for a month and had friends and family come and go during that time. In between our guests stays, the place was cleaned from top to bottom, sheets and towels changed. Maria made dinner for our groups 3 times and they were delicious and traditional greek fare. This is not a part time job for them, this is their job and no request was to big or small. From arranging transportation, to renting cars, making reservations, giving amazing recommendations to places away from the tourist traps. I fell in love with Crete as well as this remarkable family. I could go on and on, but I will end with saying if you are planning a trip to Crete, there is no better place then this villa and being cared for by this family. ##### Grace A. Everything was excellent! George, our host, was welcoming and very helpful; including organising airport transfers for us at competetive prices. George had put together a useful pack about local places to visit and associated offers. He sent copies of all information via email before we arrived but also had printed versions at the villa. His communication was excellent, he was prompt to reply to queries via text. He was also very helpful with emergency medical information when one of us had a minor accident. There were a range of services available from breakfast deliveries every day to home-made traditional Greek food being brought to us upon request. George's mother's cooking was superb and we really enjoyed the Giouvetsi and dessert. Twice a week the villa was cleaned, bed linen changed and fresh towels were delivered. The fixtures and fittings were good quality and all the beds were very comfortable. Air conditioning throughout was excellent too. The villa is in a village which has several tavernas, bakeries, pharmacies and takeaways. It was 50m from a small supermarket and 2km from a large one. We didn't hire cars so relied on the local bus services to visit the nearby town of Rethymno and to go futher afield to visit beaches and the city of Chania. We had a wonderful holiday; we hope to return again before too long. ##### Jane B. Very well equipped with quality linens. A wonderful addition was the midweek clean and linen change which is different to most self catering holidays I’ve booked before. The village for our family of grandparents, parents, and a six year old was perfect - a short 5 minute walk to 4 restaurants, a bar, a gyro place eat in or take away and countless bakeries. Only a short drive to all the action In Rethmynon and another small village 5 minutes away with yet more restaurants. The thing that makes this villa extra special is George and his family - communication was excellent we were welcomed personally with Raki and homemade cheese pie.
