  • In the beautiful village of Atsipopoulo a few kilometres from Rethymno centre, you will meet the luxury guest house 'Villa Rogdia', which is a 200 sq metres villa with a private swimming pool and can host up to 8 persons.

    Would you like to explore how tradition and luxury can coexist in the same house? If yes, villa Rogdia is definitely your holiday home. Respecting the traditional architecture of Crete we have restored an old traditional house of 1903 in the center of a picturesquare village. In the meantime, we have added at this house all the modern and luxury elements of a new house in order the guests can have relaxing and peaceful holidays.

    Villa Rogdia awaits you to experience the Cretan hospitality, tradition and history, as well as pleasurable moments of relaxation and serenity.

    Villa Rogdia locates at the same property with two other villas, Elia and Myrtia at the center of village Atsipopoulo, which can meet all your first needs. Supermarket, bakery, groceries and butchery shop, cofee shop, restaurants, ATM and pharmacy are all in walking distance (200 metres from the entrance of the villas). However, as you come in from the entrance of the villas, the whole atmosphere changes, as our villas locate inside the nature in a peaceful and ideal for relaxing enviroment. The center of Rethymno is also 5 kilometres away and 10 minutes drive.

    Villa Rogdia is concstructed in maisonette style, measures 200 m2 and has a private swimming pool and a huge balcony. Moreover,it can host 8 persons in 4 bedrooms. Two of them have a double bed and en suite bathroom and the rest two have two single beds each.

    On the ground floor you will find the living area with a luxury sitting room, a fireplace, a full-equipped kitchen and a dining area. It also includes a WC, a luxury bathroom with hydromassage, an entertaiment area and a lavatory.

    The top floor consists of the bedrooms. There are 2 bedrooms with a double bed and en suite bathroom and two bedrooms with a single bed each. Moreover, there is a small bathroom for the single bedrooms, a lavatory and access to the two balconies. The huge one has with a view of the swimming pool, the traditional village nearby and the nature, while the second one has a view of the traditional village. All the rooms are air-conditioned.

    The villa is equipped with Satellite television, DVD player, CD Player and radio, Coffee machinet, Microwave, Toaster, Dishwasher, Clothes washer, Deposit box, Hair-dryer and Baby cot.

    The exterior of the villa includes a 27sq. metres private swimming pool, a dining table and seats for all the 8 persons, as well as 8 sunbeds in order you can enjoy the cretan sun. In addition, the villa has its own barbeque facilities for your personal use. The swimming pool of the villa can also be heated with an extra cost of 40 euros per day (upon request at least 7 days before arrival and valid only for the whole booking)

    The location of the villas are ideal for exploring our whole island. Located in the center of the north part of Crete, only 3 kilometres from the highway provides easy access from the local airports (Heraklion and Chania) and the opportunity to visit from the big cities of the island to the smallest beaches in both north and south part of Crete.

    Guests will have access and full privacy to all areas indoor and outdoor!


    We will wait for you in the villa for your arrival (despite the time, even after midnight) in order to help you with the house details and give you as much informations as you want about the area, taverns, shops, places and beaches that you have to visit!
    Also we will clean the villa and change towels and linen every 3 days!
    Finally we will be there for your departure for our last thank you!
    We will be also reachable on our cell phone and e-mails 24/7!
    Our home locates only 1 kilometer from the villa, so we will be able to come in a few minutes at the villa for anything that you will need.

We had a lovely stay at this comfortable villa, in an ideal quiet location, in reach of all amenities. The private pool and outdoor seating area were highlights of our stay, providing the perfect area to unwind and cook on the bbq.George, the host, made us feel welcome, was always contactable, and ensured our transfers to and from the airport was seamless.I would highly recommend this villa and would happily return.

Een top locatie ,overal dichtbij een hele fijne contact met de eigenaar zelfs gebak met aankomst en tussen door nog een nagerecht gebracht gemaakt door zijn moeder!Het was een geweldig mooi huis en schoon .Er wordt zelfs nog tussendoor gepoetst beddengoed verschoond en wisseling van handdoeken !Wij gaat zeker nog een keer terug!

Villa: fantastic sympathetic renovation of central Atsipopoulo village property, roomy with all expected facilities and more plus brilliant heated pool as useful extra in MayHost: George, our host, was really personable and welcomed us to his property with his mothers cheese pie and a glass of raki - delicious! During our stay he was unobtrusive but was available via WhatsAp if we had any issues, which we didn't.Local Area: Atsipopoulo had all we needed by way of day-to-day supplies with well stocked supermarket, bakeries, bars and take-out/restaurants all within 5 min walk of the villa.Surrounding area: The villa is within 15 min (via hire car) of Rethymno town which has loads of attractions, restaurants and shops all within easy walking of good car parking spots. Outside of Rethymno there are plenty of interesting places to visit all within 30 min drive Other: George has commissioned an App for the villa to access all info you need to have a smooth hassle free stay. We really appreciated this.

Gracious Hosts

Our family just finished our stay and cannot say enough about George and his mother’s graciousness and hospitality. They truly make a beautiful place even more enjoyable with their welcome, warmth and commitment to excellence. The house had plenty of space, comfortable beds and furniture and the outside areas with the pool were plentiful. The property was located within walking distance of grocery stores, pharmacy, and tavernas and bakeries. Excellent home and hosts and would highly recommend staying here when visiting Crete.

Die Villa u vor allem die Vermieter waren absolut super! Wir haben noch nie ein so toll eingerichtetes Ferienhaus gemietet u so aufmerksame Vermieter gehabt! Zum Empfang hatte der Vermieter für uns extra ein super leckeres Gebäck gemacht u mit uns einen Begrüßungsraki getrunken. Der Pool u alles Weitere sind super u absolut zu empfehlen! We have just returned from a 2 week stay at villa Rogdia as a family of 7 aged between 23 and 72.We had an amazing holiday and the villa exceeded our expectations. George and his family were the most perfect hosts and made sure we had everything we needed.We were greeted with a cheese pastry dish and a welcome shot of Ouzo, which was unexpected but really nice. Nothing was too much trouble and if we needed to contact George he replied very quickly.The villa is stunning. It ha everything you could wish for and need for a stress-free holiday.The outdoor kitchen with BBQ is a great addition, as is the table tennis, which kept the lads very happy. Thanks again to George for the extra ping pong balls!!The air con in all rooms was appreciated and needed. The downstairs bathroom with walk-in shower was a big help as my daughter needs support when showering and I was able to do this easily. The villa and outdoor areas are kept spotless and have regular cleans and linen changes. We were also gifted a homemade dessert on 1 of the cleans.The pool is kept clean and the sunbeds have umbrellas for much needed shade.We didn't hire a car and we didn't need 1. The supermarket is very reasonable and has everything you need and the take always are delicious and have a good variety of food. We bbq'd a few nights too.We would highly recommend this villa and will hopefully return again in the future.

Fantastic villa for a large family group

The property was prepared immaculately, and was in excellent condition. We could not have asked for a nicer place to stay. The hosts were very welcoming, and were a great help in providing a wonderful breakfast for our first morning to take away the stress of having to sort out food as soon as we arrived. The location is ideal for exploring the island, and Rethymno, Heraklion and Chania are an easy drive away.

Herr Kokkinakis war schon vor Antritt der Reise sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.Wir bekamen vielfältige Informationen zum Ort und zu lohnenswerten Ausflugszielen. Bei der Ankunft fanden wir eine leckere Spezialität, gebacken von der Mutter von Herrn Kokkinakis vor und ein Haus, in dem wir uns sofort zu Hause fühlten .Außer von den Räumlichkeiten waren die Kinder (auch die Erwachsenen )ganz besonders vom Pool begeistert und hatten am Ende des Urlaubes Schwimmhäute zwischen den Fingern.Herr Kokkinakis war immer ansprechbar und hatte den ein oder anderen Tip für uns und in der Küche fanden wir oft leckere Speisen von seiner Mutter gekocht.Diesen Gastgeber sowie dieses Haus kann man nur empfehlen.

Super Villa

A super Villa located in the heart of a small village. The accommodation was clean, very spacious and ideal for our family and small children . The pool was nice and the two terraces ideal for soaking up the sun. The local shops, supermarket , restaurants and cafes were very close by and we enjoyed our trip to the bakery each morning for the fresh pastries and bread. Our hosts were super giving us all the local information and recommendations. Overall, a great week and would definitely recommend it.

George and his family are fantastic! George was right there anytime we needed anything. His mother and sister made us an unbelievable breakfast! Coming from snow in Pennsylvania, to sunbathing and 70 (all week!) in Crete, was a wish come true. We took advantage of seeing and experiencing as much of Crete, as we could!! 10 out of 10!!!! Wonderful dream villa & village experience

Our group loved the Atsipopoulo villas. It was even lovelier than the photos. George and his mother Mary were superb and kind hosts. We were so comfortable and the villa was very clean. He provided us exceptional packets of Crete recommendations which really helped us have a superb Crete experience. The village has cute restaurants and groceries all within a short walk. We felt immersed in the local culture while still having privacy at the villa. We all missed the villa the minute we left and hope to return someday. Family trip to Crete

Our family of 6 ( 3 generations ages 21-84) had a fantastic 6 nights at the villa. On our first morning we enjoyed their delicious breakfast feast. Each morning we enjoyed our breakfasts on the shaded patio-such a relaxing outdoor space. We found everything we needed in the well appointed kitchen. One afternoon we were surprised with a delicious cheese pie from Mary. George was always available via text if we had questions. The Villa is beautiful! We enjoyed the pool very much as well as the very comfortable deck loungers. George helped us prearrange a minivan rental from the Heraklion Airport that went smoothly. It was a special experience to stay in the village. We enjoyed wonderful dinners close to the villa. We are seasoned travelers and have stayed at many VRBO properties. This was one of our favorites.

Wonderful stay in a fantastic property

The property is exactly like the photographs and is very beautiful having been recently renovated to a very high standard. Very well equipped with quality linens. A wonderful addition was the midweek clean and linen change which is different to most self catering holidays I’ve booked before. The village for our family of grandparents, parents, and a six year old was perfect - a short 5 minute walk to 4 restaurants, a bar, a gyro place eat in or take away and countless bakeries. Only a short drive to all the action In Rethmynon and another small village 5 minutes away with yet more restaurants. The thing that makes this villa extra special is George and his family - communication was excellent we were welcomed personally with Raki and homemade cheese pie. We had a homemade desert and leaving gifts. Would not hesitate to recommend this villa to all. Thank you George and hope to see you again.

Stunning Villa in a quiet village

Wow…. This holiday and Villa was amazing. We arrived quite late in the evening and we’re still greeted by George and his family who had thoughtfully provided sandwiches, pastries and some Raki. George gave us a run through and walk round of this stunning Villa. The Villa is beautiful with plenty of room for our party of 8 people. This Villa has everything you need for a perfect stay The Villa is immaculate and you feel guilty for making any mess but with 6 teeens/young adults this wasn’t easy lol The outside area is where we spent most of our time chilling on the upstairs terrace and enjoying the pool and bbq. The local amenities are sufficient enough to provide you with.most of your daily needs and the local bakery and pizza place are very friendly. We made constant use of the local bus at EUR1.40 taking us into the beautiful town of Rethymon where there is everything you can imagine to complete your perfect holiday. We would all like to personally thank George and his family for hosting and providing the perfect setting for a great family holiday. We would love to return again in the future

Heaven in Crete!

A few things to know about me. I stay in VRBO's 3 months a year. I rarely write reviews. I am very particular. This villa is so extraordinary I had to write about it. It is impeccably clean, it is well appointed with all you could need from the kitchen to the living areas. The patios and pool are spectacular. The location is perfect to see many areas of Crete easily. (I would recommend renting a car, the driving is very easy) One of the most amazing things are the hosts of this Villa. George, his mother Maria and George's sister, are kind, gracious, accommodating and at the same time give you plenty of space and privacy. I stayed for a month and had friends and family come and go during that time. In between our guests stays, the place was cleaned from top to bottom, sheets and towels changed. Maria made dinner for our groups 3 times and they were delicious and traditional greek fare. This is not a part time job for them, this is their job and no request was to big or small. From arranging transportation, to renting cars, making reservations, giving amazing recommendations to places away from the tourist traps. I fell in love with Crete as well as this remarkable family. I could go on and on, but I will end with saying if you are planning a trip to Crete, there is no better place then this villa and being cared for by this family.
