"After experiencing a complete nightmare at another local hotel, checking into the Hells Canyon Grand Hotel on June 27 was a breath of fresh air.The entire property was incredibly clean, spotless, and exceptionally well-kept. Thanks to the comfortable rooms and quiet atmosphere, we finally got a great night of sleep. Our only regret is that we didn't book all three nights of our trip here from the very beginning.If you are visiting Lewiston, do yourself a favor and book this hotel first!"

"For an older building, this hotel is maintained exceptionally well. I can tell the staff and ownership really care about keeping the building clean and providing the amenities such as ice machines clean towels, vending machines, breakfast etc top notch. It is an old building in occasionally there was a smell or a feel of an old building but it wasn't trashy or dirty and I really appreciate the staff strives hard to present it in a tip-top shape. Also the price was very reasonable and I all together I had a very comfortable night stay."

"The room was clean the hosts were super nice. There was a nice variety of snacks left in the room. It didn't feel very private to me. We could hear the footsteps from the home above and sometimes them talking. The room is really only suitable for 2 people (the listing says max 3), and it's a bit tight for just 2. The bed (I know mattress comfort is subjective), but you can see just by looking at the made bed, the dips on each side where respective people sleep. It could stand to be replaced or at least a topper added to make it a bit more comfortable. This is a basement room, and there is a pump attached to the pipes in the bathroom that is quite loud when you run the water or flush the toilet. My only other issue was with the shower head. It's a rainwater type one. I know some people like these and I think they're water savers, but there's no water pressure to speak of, which makes hair washing and rinsing (for those of us with longer hair) a challenge. Overall, I gave it a good rating. It is located right on the river, and you have use of the yard, if you want to sit out and watch the water. It is also located right next to a very nice park, and it's not a long distance to stores, restaurants etc."
