About this property
Orion`s View
Summary:
Offering Wi-Fi, hot tub, BBQ, A/C, fenced back yard, and stunning home décor, you`ll love it!
The Space:
Fantastic location just three blocks from downtown Red Lodge, this quaint home offers so much character. Orion's View is remodeled and lots of the history of the home was exposed in the process and now featured. You've really got to see it! The relaxing living area has a bay window to watch the deer pass by and an electric fireplace for just the perfect ambience. There are two bedrooms located upstairs - one room with a queen bed and one with a full bed, and there is a small sleeping area on the main level with a twin bed. Both of the upper bedrooms feature sky lights right above the beds for star gazing! There is a full bath on the main level. The back yard is private and fenced with a hot tub, available year-round, and a propane BBQ, firepit. Perfect for every season. Just picture yourself snuggled in for the night staring up at the stars and if you're lucky you may even see Orion's Belt! Just a note - please do understand that the bathroom is on the main floor. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs so those guests need to travel down the stairs in the night to visit the restroom.
Orion's view is 7.4 miles to Red Lodge Mountain.

The Neighborhood:
Red Lodge, nestled in the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains, is a wonderful place to visit if you are looking for family fun, a place to touch the wild, or just a chance to let your hair down. Whether you are wearing Birkenstocks or cowboy boots, you will find something to do here. (Although downtown is paved and we even have sidewalks, Jimmy Choos are probably not a great idea!)
In winter the road ends here. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding and sleigh riding are just the short list of activities that you can do when visiting us.
In summer we revel in the Beartooth Pass opening. We are only 68 miles from Yellowstone Park, but plan on a good two hours` drive as the “Pass” is stunning in high mountain vistas, rocky cliffs, and jeweled lakes. The Custer National Forest is a haven for wildlife including elk, moose, mountain goats, big horn sheep, bears (black and grizzly), mountain lions and wolves. Golden marmots are often seen dashing across the trails. Golden and bald eagles often visit our area, as well as sandhill cranes and blue herons.
Getting Around:
Orion`s View has street parking. Red Lodge has a taxi service and Uber for transportation in the area. Red Lodge does not have a commercial airport. Guest(s) can fly to area airports and drive to destination. Area airports and approximate distance to Red Lodge: Logan International Airport (BIL) 60 miles, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) 147 miles, Yellowstone Regional Airport (YRA) 64 miles.

Red Lodge, Montana is a rural community that does offer internet and cell service throughout most geographic areas but, some locations are completely void of any internet or cell service. In town and within a 3-5 mile radius of downtown you will enjoy solid cell signal but during times when our population increases due to events, celebration (such as the Fourth of July), or emergency situations such as a wildfire you will notice that these online and cellular services slow down and sometimes, they can slow down to the point where you have to wait to place a call. We can’t do anything to help in these situations, so we encourage people to enjoy the freedom of being “unplugged” and to be patient.

We enjoyed our stay here. The rental company is very responsive. Good location. The only drawback for me was the lack of bathroom upstairs. I would stay here again.
Clean Well Managed Property with Charm and Character
We really enjoyed the cleanliness and character of the property. The location is great as it's a very short walk to the shops and restaurants, the hot tub was great after a day of skiing, and the property manager is on top of everything. Will definitely look to stay with them again when we're back in Red Lodge.
This house was the perfect place to stay for our 6 day ski trip to Red lodge Mountain! Only a10 minutes drive to the ski lifts and close to restaurants, grocery, and gift shops. The fire pit, outdoor grill, and hot tub were great to rest and relax after a long day on the slopes.
Beautiful house, very comfortable. Loved the skylights in the bedrooms. Enjoyed the wildlife every morning when we went out. Close to downtown so we were able to walk everywhere, so convenient!
Really gorgeous property, love the updates to a historic property. Seamless check in, good communication from the property manager. The backyard is a wonderful place to hang out. Would definitely stay here again. Strongly recommend.
This house was perfect for our stay. Picture do not do it justice. We have a great time enjoying the backyard. Got to see moose, deer and turkeys right out front. Will definitely be back!
This house had all the amenities you could need and more. Loved the skylight, beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed the backyard and used the hot tub and played corn hole. The kitchen is very well stocked as well the bathroom (plenty of towels). It was nice being so close to Main Street and having a playground 5 blocks away.
Everything was exactly as it was portrayed on the VRBO site. Very clean, well stocked with everything you need.
Beds were super comfortable, 2 blocks from downtown. Property manager was very quick to respond to a couple of minor issues. Access to hiking was awesome. Bear tooth highway starts just a short drive outside of town. The views from the highway are incredible. Would highly recommend this home as your next VRBO stay.
Awesome home in a great location. Such a cool house that was decorated very nicely. We loved everything in the inside and the back yard was very well done.
Has a nice front porch and easy walk into town - Red Lodge is a beautiful town and the people are extremely nice with great restaurants.
Make sure to check out the Yellowstone Bus Preservation Trust building - short walk from the house. You can make reservations for a ride in one of the original Yellowstone buses for a ride on the Beartooth highway.
Highly recommend this home if we you stay in Red Lodge. The communication was outstanding before, during and after our trip - could not have been better.
This was our first time visiting our daughter who moved to Red Lodge in 2023. What a great little town to visit. The rental was a few blocks away from where she lives and we were able to walk to and from her place. Loved the house, loved sitting outside in the backyard in the mornings enjoying the beautiful weather, loved everything about it. The house is very comfortable and well stocked. My favorite thing was the number of towels provided. Loved the color coded towels for the bathroom use and those for the hot tub. What a great idea! It was just a very homey, comfortable, home away from home. Will be back!
