Question 3

Which area of Princeton is best to stay in for cheap hotels?

Accepted Answer

For budget-conscious solo travellers, finding cheap hotels in Princeton, New Jersey, can be a bit of a challenge as it's not typically known for a number of budget accommodation options right in the heart of town. Instead, you'll generally find better value a little further afield, often requiring a short drive or bus journey into the central area.

One practical strategy is to look at hotels located along major routes just outside the immediate downtown area, such as along U.S. Route 1. While these won't be in the picturesque university surroundings, they often offer more great prices and still provide relatively easy access to Princeton's attractions, especially if you have a car or are comfortable using local bus services. Solo travellers might find that some of the larger chain hotels in these outlying areas offer good amenities for the price, such as complimentary breakfast or decent Wi-Fi.

Alternatively, consider looking slightly further afield in nearby towns like Lawrenceville or West Windsor. These communities are often just a short drive from Princeton and can have more affordable lodging options.
