The hotel is pretty and the staff is really kind, but it could use a good renovation. Beautiful views and a really huge pool and pool area. It's pretty high up in Positano, be sure to understand you need to climb many stairs from the beach area.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Royal Positano. The location was perfect for us, right in the middle of town, making it easy to reach both the upper and lower parts of Positano. The hotel also has some beautiful views. Breakfast was great and had everything we needed each morning. The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable throughout our stay. One thing to note: there are a lot of stairs, and the elevator serves only three floors, so it may not be ideal for everyone. Overall, we had a very good stay and would happily recommend it for its location, views, service, and value.

Nice hotel room with a great view. Staff were nice and helpful. It’s a long walk with lots of stairs to get to the central area/beach and the hotel does not provide a shuttle. The hotel is right beside a bus stop though (cash only) which will take you to the bottom.

Lots of stairs to get up, but there are porters you can pay. I did the climb to get some exercise. There's also a bus (cash only) that stops right out front of the hotel and will take you into the town centre. The pool was never open, even with the slightest bit of rain or even clouds with the chance of rain. Breakfast was great.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Location was perfect for us because it was out of the main touristy hustle and bustle. Bus stop right across the hotel for easy transport into town. Comfiest bed ever with premium duvet and feather pillows. Views were exceptional even with no balcony. It was such a romantic hotel! Great amenities (even with end of season). Friendly staff. Amazing breakfast and breakfast terrace. Can walk to restaurants that are more affordable up the hill. If you go down they get more pricier. Will definitely recommend to anyone going to Positano. It was lovely and very memorable.

Room was dirty, covers on couch were tinted brown, used nicotine(zyns) lip pouches under the bed, not very clean, be prepared to do 10,000 steps to get up there too, definitely wouldn’t book again, but the workers bartenders to be specific were amazing.

Property is decent, staff is okay. Rooms don’t get cleaned well & there was mold in the walls. I didn’t try the restaurant or the amenities, but had some late night cocktails at they’re bar which were pretty good. I had a pretty nice view from my window, & it’s close to the piazza del mulini just about 400 steps down or a 40 euro taxi ride. If you’re looking just somewhere to sleep & won’t be in all day I recommend here

clean and modern room. Staff was excellent and very accommodating. Big breakfast with lots of options. Air conditioning and a great pool to cool off in! Parking available which is a HUGE deal when visiting Positano. superb view. Would def recommend staying here!

The property is a bit dated. For Americans, there is no coffee/tea maker in the room. Breakfast is good, getting an Americano (espresso with water) makes the coffee cold. Showers are tiny and the door in my room didn’t close properly so the bathroom got wet. Finally, nobody really talks about the steps and vertical drops for Positano. From the hotel to the road near the main shopping area is just under 400 steps (yes 400). This is more about Positano and the location of the hotel vs the hotel itself.
