The staff were excellent and the bar was welcoming. The drive to downtown was short however the $50 per day to park was a surprise and no one likes surprises.
Newer property. This was not a convenient location to anything in Portland. There is a concert venue across the street with a huge stage that blocked our view of the water. Luckily we left the day of the concert and did not have noise issues.
Stayed in King Studio room. Impressive size, tall ceilings and high quality fixtures and appliances. Very comfortable. Staff was very helpful and accommodating.
Only confusion was around the valet parking versus self parking. Self parking is metered and overnight costs more than valet.
The property is nice. The valet parking fee was horrible. You don’t have an option to park your own car. They charge 45.00 per day to park it on top of your room fee.
Charged 48 dollars a night just to park. The pool was not even open. Check in was not ready at 3 when we got there. Had to put a 100 dollar deposit on room have not seen credit yet on my card left room spotless. City of Portland charges 3 percent hotel tax on rooms.
Property was only opened less than a week. Everything was new. Two of the guest use dryers were malfunctioning. The dishwasher in guy room was also inoperative. Parking is very limited considering the amount of guest room. Cost of daily parking is outrageous.
They REQUIRE you to use valet parking and then charge you $45 a day for it. I had no idea going into this. It's a Residence Inn. When does a Residence Inn require valet parking and then charge a ridiculous price for it? Absurd and honestly pretty infuriating. You have no option but to turn your car keys over to the valet. And then you are just STUCK there. There is literally NOTHING in walking distance other than a train station. Not the kind of train that will take you into "town." But like an Amtrack cross country train station. That's it. No restaurants. No bars. No attractions. No shops. Nothing in walking distance and you are stuck there.
Checking into the hotel, which I will say is a lovely building, it is brand new (2026) and it shows. But at check-in, I asked the man behind the desk if he had suggestions for how to spend our one evening in Portland and he said, "Eat. Shop. There's nothing to do in Portland." Oh. Wow, great introduction to the area. He wasn't wrong. But someone in the hospitality business should maybe have a couple of suggestions in mind for guests who want ideas of what to do during their stay.
Overall, the hotel building itself, the staff themselves, no complaints. It's fine. It's a Residence Inn and pretty much exactly what you would expect from a Residence Inn. But the location of this hotel is horrendous. And the parking situation is not only ill-planned but also had a huge negative impact on our stay. We would not stay here again.
