"Nice little B&B a few yards from the course at Clyne. Small but well appointed twin rooms and a delicious full breakfast served in the clubhouse.
Staff and members very hospitable and all four in our party very pleased and would happily stay again. "

"I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). "

"Clean room, very helpful attentive staff. The amenities were those expected of a b&b. Our only qualms about our stay was there was no offer of remuneration re: the boiler having broken down."

"This was an excellent find. We stayed 1 night in the “attic” room, which met all our needs. The entry instructions and directions to the property were also very clear. An added bonus was the local pub “The Torbay”, which was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday. The food was great. The self serve continental breakfast was fine. Liked the quirkiness of the room, would stay again"

"On arrival we were greeted in a professional manner and shown the fire exit and taken to our room.
We then went to have a meal in their restaurant and honestly it was awful. We had to wait and ask twice for the sauce we ordered for the steak which the steak tasted so old and not seasoned and was not edible. We did complain and was offered something else but by this time we felt so ill and could not face anything else to ear. We then went up to our room to lay down and watch tv but we couldn't as we have only a couple of channels which did not even include BB1/BB2/ITV or 5, no channels to even watch a film. We had also requested an electric fan on booking with Hotels.com and we did not have one. We then decided we wanted to go home as it was such a disaster compared to the 1st time we stayed. We will not be staying there again."
"Very good value. Excellent parking. Staff friendly and helpful when available. Bed comfortable and clean. The fan worked well but lacked its remote control. WiFi signal in the (courtyard) room weak. A smart television with streamer access and stations beyond Freeview would have been appreciated. Had a terrific meal and wine in the restaurant followed by a pleasant walk along a quiet road into Miskin village afterwards. I would happily return."
"This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I genuinely cannot believe this place is meant to be a 4-star hotel.
From the outside, it looks quite decent, and having a pool, gym and Starbucks on site gives the impression that it’s going to be a good stay. Unfortunately, that couldn’t have been further from the truth. As soon as we got to the room, it was obvious we’d massively overpaid.
The room was unbearably hot, and the window had clearly been left open because there was no air conditioning at all. Instead, there was a tiny fan that was completely useless and just seemed to push hot air around. I complained to the duty manager, who brought a stronger fan, but it barely helped. To make matters worse, there wasn’t even any complimentary tea or coffee in the room, which is the bare minimum you’d expect.
We then tried to complain, but got stuck in a ridiculous back and forth between the hotel and Hotels.com, each telling us to take it up with the other. After more than an hour of this, and feeling completely frustrated and let down, we ended up cancelling the booking and getting a refund.
I would never stay at a Village Hotel again after this. Really disappointing experience, and nowhere near the standard it claims to be."
"The rooms are starting to look very dated. No sockets near the bed. No usb sockets. Furniture in the rooms are very early 80’s and need smartening up.
Bed was comfortable as were all the sheets.
The room was comfortable and warm. Black out blinds are brilliant. Lovely balcony and view across the golf course.
Amenities are great. Breakfast was amazing. Local fruit and produce. Plenty of everything."
"Myself and my partner were really impressed by the beautiful decor at Lanelay Hall the hotel and our room was very spacious - the biggest room I’ve ever had whilst staying at a hotel. The happy birthday treats and petals were a really kind lovely touch too. The location was disappointing as we pulled up to the hotel gates in a housing estate (our expectation was a countryside hotel). Also one of the skylight blinds was broken in our room and left a gaping hole of bright light into the room which woke us up at 5:30am on our special night away. Overall a beautiful hotel and great service but location and the broken blind disturbing our sleep really put a dampener on our stay."
