I made a reservation & my car broke down & was unable to reach the hotel. I requested a refund & they declined this. Extremely disappointed that due to unforeseen circumstances that there was no effort to consider or compensate. Will never book a Mecure hotel again, not will family & friends.

So quiet, did not hear a single plane. Unfortunately no transfer shuttle to the airport so had to walk there pre dawn across the carpark with all our luggage. Initially given a king room when booked a twin. Had to move my luggage myself again to another (twin) room Room is nicely furnished and clean.

Lovely hotel ruined by food and chef’s ego.
Scotch filet steak was on the menu Aud 50. Filet steak is not flat and 6x4 inches. My wife had to leave her one as it was full of fat and grizzle. Breakfast toast was not toasted so asked if it could be, came back absolutely burnt. So we were due to return 13 Feb. so cancelled.

We stayed at this Airport hotel because all the other hotels in Newcastle were full. Despite that, we had a lovely stay. The foyer & rooms were spacious, super-clean & very comfortable. The staff at reception and in the dining/breakfast room were very friendly and helpful and the food was great. It provided a really lovely, luxe first night for our road trip up the coast.
