Port Huron Vacation Packages

It was a gorgeous building and grounds, but sorely understaffed. At check-in, we were given no information about amenities, internet, or any hotel features. I’ve never before been at a hotel at this price point that lacked a concierge, valet, and bellhop/ porter. We got lost looking for our room were offered no help lugging our bags up stairs. We couldn’t find any staff members to help us and, when we reached our room and had questions (we had been given the wrong room), our calls to the front desk went unanswered. The indoor and outdoor spaces were both stunning. Our apartment had many thoughtful, high-end touches, from a Dyson hairdryer to a mixology kit, to an umbrella. While we were there, it was beautifully decorated for fall and offered complimentary cider and donuts. It’s an amazing historical building that looks like it would be an unforgettable wedding venue, but it could use a lot more signage and staff to orient guests. A spa or salon on site would be nice, as well.

Good location and helpful staff. Elevator service was slow. Room was nice but TV was difficult to use and party and outside noise was excessive. Breakfast food was OK but service was slow.

Room was clean…bed was comfortable

My concerns are with the room we stayed in, rather than the hotel itself. We stayed in a Deluxe Double Room, and unfortunately, we experienced a couple of issues that negatively impacted our stay. First, the room was extremely warm and stuffy, and we were unable to get it to a comfortable temperature. Although the thermostat displayed 65 degrees, the actual temperature in the room was nowhere near that cool. Additionally, the bathtub drain was extremely slow. We had to wait approximately 45 minutes between family members taking showers to allow the water to drain. Having to stand in a tub of standing water while showering is unpleasant and unsanitary. We also checked the drain ourselves to ensure it was fully open, but that did not resolve the issue. We went to the front desk three separate times to report both the temperature and drainage issues. Each time, we were told that maintenance or an engineer would be sent to our room to address the problems. We also asked whether there was any record of maintenance visiting the room to inspect these issues, but the front desk informed us that no record was available. My complaint is specifically about the condition of our room and not the hotel as a whole. However, the issues we experienced made our stay uncomfortable and frustrating, especially after bringing our concerns to the front desk three separate times without any resolution or follow-up. We expected our concerns to be taken seriously and addressed, and not brushed off.
