Our hostess Rose was lovely, a terrific cook, happy, pleasant, and very thoughtful. Breakfasts were so special and delicious, presented on beautiful table ware in a bright room with windows overlooking the green gardens. There is a lovely back porch where we enjoyed our time overlooking more beautiful gardens. Our room was quaint, cozy, and comfortable. The AC works very well and fans keep air circulating around the farmhouse beautifully. The bed was a dream to sleep on. Sheets and bath linens are very high quality with lovely soaps, bath salts, hair products for our use. Parking is on site and convenient. Walking to the shops and restaurants took about 5-8 minutes. We would definitely book again and will be sending recommendations to our friends!

The home has been tastefully restored and decor is exquisite. Furnishings are comfortable with like-new linens & bathrobes all lending to the luxurious feel of the place. We were a bit taken aback when we discovered our bathroom was off a common area - though still private, it was unexpected to find the 2nd floor guests exiting through the same area we tiptoed through to access it! Wear a bathrobe unless you don’t mind parading in pyjamas. 😊

Dear Jocelyne, I know you were a bit taken a back to find out the B & B opens at 4 PM and you were not able to check in 50mins before. Covid has brought a lot to light where rooms need to be cleaned and aired out for as long as possible, thus I will be keeping 4 PM check in always. If a guest needs to be at the B & B before check in time, then proper arrangements need to be made with the owner or the previous night should be booked. The house was built in the 1830 and I do respect that and do the best I can by providing a luxurious feel as you mentioned. Stay well and enjoy the rest of your Summer.

Very quiet, extremely comfy bed, mostly private covered porch is sublime Would've preferred the washroom as an ensuite but having it for exclusive use with the room compensates nicely.

Beautiful old home. Very welcoming host. Room was a bit small, limiting the sitting area to watch TV. Also no ice available - but overall an "A" experience.

Property is lovely and room was very comfortable. Host is friendly and caring. Breakfast was ok. Given we were only there for a few hours to sleep and have breakfast I’m not sure the steep price tag is justified.

Guests check in time starts at 4 PM and check out time is by 11 AM. During this time the guest room is reserved to be used by the guest only, your time arriving and leaving between 4 PM and 11 AM is your choice. Maybe another type of accommodate may have suited your needs much better, whereby you can pay for the few hours of accommodation needed. As per other guests reviews, we offer much more than a place to rest your head at Plantation House located in beautiful Port Hope. Stay well

This is a lovely BnB, spotlessly clean and comfortable, surrounded by beautiful grounds, yet in close proximity to the downtown. Rose, who strictly followed the necessary covid protocols, was an excellent host, welcoming and informative. The breakfast was absolutely superb! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

An excellent Bed & Breakfast!
My fiancee and I couldn't have been happier with this bed and breakfast experience. The place was comfortable and well designed. Even the bed sheets were of good quality. The host was most gracious and kind and the breakfast we had offered everything you would want/need. There is also a nice balcony that looks into the woods where we sat and had our morning coffee. We will definitely be booking with this place again next time we need a place to stay in that area.

This stay was wonderful! The house is beautiful, the room is lovely, very clean. Bed is very comfortable and luxurious. The host was so welcoming and lovely as well. The breakfasts were amazing. Location is great (easy 5 min walk to main street). Absolutely great!!

This property is well thought out, super comfortable with extra high quality linens and mattress, and toiletries, quiet and provides everything you could imagine asking for (including a cold pack for a taught muscle)! Breakfast was on the dot, exactly as described, and the host asked about and anticipated any food issues. Note that the host requests check-in from 4pm onwards, but was very appreciative and accommodating if you communicate that you are planning to arrive quite a bit later, The property is easy to find if you follow the directions given on the booking confirmation sheet, and is very close (walking distances) to the downtown core. This property is upscale, but value for money. Thanks Rose!!

The property was a bit secluded even though it was 6 minutes from downtown Port Hope. The ambiance and charm is delightful and the owner, Rose, is enchanting. The home is airy and welled laid out. Think welcoming and comfort. I highly recommend this B&B. Highly.

Great location, a short walk from the main street. Very clean and comfortable. Our room was beautiful. Great breakfast both days. Rose, the host, is very friendly and helpful. No complaints! I would definitely stay again and recommend this bed and breakfast!

Hidden jewel in a picturesque seaport town
While a bit hard to find for a first time visitor, patience and perseverance were rewarded by a most comfortable, convenient, and welcoming inn. Rose is quite a gracious hostess, and fabulous cook. Everything was healthy, fresh, and homemade. If you're looking for something a little off the beaten path, but within walking distance of many attractions, shopping, dining, local history, scenic river and beach... look no further!

My husband and I had a short getaway to attend the theatre. Our host at the B&B was friendly, making us feel welcome immediately. Our room was immaculate and the breakfast was delicious.
