"The Fair Isle was the perfect location for the start of our Cabot Trail experience. Two amazing dogs greeted us and yhe lady at the front desk was so friendly and even added to our Cabot Trail experience with some recommendations. The motel had a pool and beautiful views right across the street. It was very clean and we had a good nights rest. Highly recommend to stay here!"
"We found this accommodation exactly as described on VRBI, Even better, Michael was very communicative and engaged and responsive. Probably one of the best hosts we ever had in our VRBO rentals. The view was spectacular. The walk to the beach was easy, took about 10 or 15 minutes. The beach was fantastic. And it was centrally located for us, easy to get up the coast or back onto the mainland as required. We would definitely rent here again."
"A wonderful place to stay for sure. The home was built by the owners and all guest rooms are on the main floor. Pretty, spacious bedrooms. Breakfast was an unexpected treat - tablecloths, individual little dishes with an assortment of jams, butter, marmalade etc. fresh brewed coffee. Fruit cups and yogurt followed by individual hot dishes of frittata.
Owner showed us a slide show of attractions during breakfast and some history of the area and serenaded us with a Scottish tune on his fiddle. Exactly the type of welcoming BnB we were looking for."
"We enjoyed a comfortable, peaceful stay in this charming house in Port Hood. The views are lovely and the beach is a short walk away. During our two week stay we were able to get to most of Cape Breton including Port Hawkesbury, Chéticamp, St. Ann’s, Mabou, Judique and Inverness. The host and property manager were gracious and accessible. I would stay here again."
"Terrific property ideally sited between Port Hood and Mabou. The walk down to the private beach was lovely and the home was perfectly equipped for a comfortable and relaxed vacation. We will be back!"
Beautiful Little Beach House with Gorgeous Sunsets
8/10 Good
"With its white walls, white curtains, and white slipcovers, this charming cottage gives off a Nantucket meets Scandinavia vibe. It absence of frills or clutter and economy of space fairly begs the traveler to leave behind the noise and busyness of “real life” and simplify, simplify, simplify! While the cottage is compact, the ample deck adds significantly to the total living space. It is here that color makes an entrance in a burst of rainbow hued Adirondack chairs, a perfect perch from which to take in the sea air, view boats out on the water, or gaze up at a canopy of stars. Switch off your phone, pick up a good beach read, and exhale."
