Thumb getaway
It was a good place, great location, needs some tlc, looks like they have been improving, if your looking for a reasonably priced place to stay its great, if your looking for a big squishing bed, not it the bed was very uncomfortable, no coffee provided there was a small 4 cup maker, which had mold growth from left over coffee grounds luckily there was a small local store across the street to buy filters and coffee , its not a bad place to stay.

It was nice for the night. No amenities like coffee maker or microwave but it did have a fridge. It was nice. Only downfall was the wifi was terrible.

It was a very quiet place and very clean. It was near the beach area and everything was in a walking distance.

Room was very basic, but the beds were large and comfortable. The location is excellent and my kids loved the pool and hot tub. I could never get the Wifi to work, but overall a really good time. I would stay here again.

Location! Location! Location!!! We stayed in one of the single bed cottages. Don’t judge a book by its cover because when we walked inside, we were pleasantly surprised to find a fully renovated studio like apartment, and it was sparking clean. Tiny, but it had everything we needed. I must say, the reason to come “up north” to Lake Huron so I was surprised how many people were using the pool (very clean and nice) instead of the beach, one block away. Would absolutely stay here again!

No one was on site to get anything from. When the wifi didn’t work or we needed towels. Rooms and bathroom just too small. Loved the hot tubb however.

Our office is open 24/7 and the manager is available via the phone at the front desk when they need to step out. Sometimes we do need to step away from the office, which is why we make sure there is a cabinet full of towels, toilet paper, etc. That way we can direct you to what you need without having to wait.We are sorry there was an interruption in the WIFI services during your stay. The issue was addressed right away and resolved.We hope you will come back to Port Austin and stay with us again! Our second floor rooms are more spacious than the first floor.

Great place
What I noticed was this place is 2 1/2 stars. If you can get by with no continental breakfast and rooms that could be updated This place sits in the center of town "Port Austin" with a great piece of property, set up like a courtyard with an big outdoor pool, firepit, a quick walk to all the stores and the pier. Best place to stay in Port Austin.

We brought our grandsons here for the a night while taking them on a four day tour of the thumb. We wish we had the time to stay another night. Our room was conveniently located on the first floor. The pool area was nice and clean. Convenience of having the grocery store across the street came in handy a few times during the day. Will definitely come back to stay a little longer.

This property is in a great location with restaurants, shopping and the Port Austin harbor less than a 5-minute walk. The rooms aren’t fancy but they are clean and comfortable. They have a beautiful pool and grassy area with multiple grills and picnic tables. The fire pit is awesome for an evening campfire.

Always have a wonderful time here… Not the Ritz Carlton but when you come up to this neck of the woods… You don’t come up to sit in a hotel room,, you come to be outside! If I could say one thing… The beds are a little hard LOL

Considering the price, I expected better. No housekeeping, no phone or clock, no tissues, no channel guide. Bathroom door had all the veneer peeling off. It was just a hollow-core door...wouldn't cost much to replace. Lobby not attended...must call for service. Parking near our room was limited and not in good repair. In fact, downright dangerous. Certainly not good for handicapped. Motel was conveniently located.

Rooms were very small. There was a nice swimming pool, but we did not get a chance to use it--not the motel's fault. Price was too high for a very small room with 2 beds. "Lakeside" did not mean the motel was near or within view of the lake. It was 2 blocks off the lake. I thought I read that the hotel had breakfast, but it did not. Also, I read from Expedia that check-in was between 3:30 and 6:30, so we rushed to get to the motel. But the front desk person said we could check in anytime--even very late.

Pool was nice and ultra clean. No non-slip in apparently new bathtub, and I just about ended up with a bad spill! Rooms were very clean, but towels were very poor quality and no pool towels! AC units was extremely noisy. Good location, except for lack of parking.
