Love the serenity and sense of peace that you feel once inside. Staff were wonderful, food was delicious, just remember to place your food order first thing in the morning. A hidden Gem😍

This was my third or fourth time staying at this facility. I always came back because of the area its in and the its architecture. This hotel has a lot of potential, but unfortunately the service has declined. Firstly, upon checking in i was told that my reservation could not be located. One of the persons working there offered a better room for the inconvenience, but an other dissagreed with the idea. Second when I walked in the room it was extremely hot. I asked if they coild turn on the AC they responded by telling me that they would turn it on later that evening. I asked if i could at least put something in the fridge to cool down that was also met with a disappointed "no". They informed me because there wasn't any power on that side of the room, they would have to move the fridge by the night stand. They later turned on the generator which powered the AC at around 8:30pm and it was shut off the same night 11:00pm. This happened every night. In the morning they knock on tne door at 8:30 to eat breakfast and if you don't come within 10 minutes they knock a second time. The second to last morning one of the women knocked on our door so hard that i refused the breakfast. They hardly gave any water, we had to asked several times for towels and the cofee maker was dirty. The water pressure was nonexistent and only got luke warm water once. One evening we wanted to go in the pool and there was trash anc empty bottles all around.

Thank you for your feedback, Roseline. You requested a different room than the one you booked, one with two beds. We do not offer nor advertise rooms with two beds, other than the apartments. You then "demanded" an upgrade. The attendant had no authority to offer you a free upgrade. You were told about the conditions and you declined. Eventually, at the end of your stay, you left without anyone knowing it or paying your tab. We, at Les Residences Etang du Jonc, make every possible effort to accommodate our guests and make them feel right at home. Our staff is very attentive and responsive to their needs and requests. This is something that you can attest to, having solicited them on numerous occasions during your short stay. Further, we not only have a backup generator but we also invested in solar power to make sure there is no energy disruption. Our client comfort is our number one concern. We continue to welcome clients' feedback to improve our offering and better serve them. That is our aim. Benoit

Staff was respectful. They gave me a warm welcome and they were very helpful. The space is at a very quiet area and really clean.Food was good. I loved it. I recommend anyone who wanna spend their time in Haiti that place.

Everything that was outside was covered in leaves, bird poop. The hotel is isolated and hard to reach. I paid a motorist 500 dr to drive me there. There were no lights outside when arrived at 6pm (it was dark) there are no nearby restaurants or taxis. They offered doof for sale but only accepted dollars. Breakfeast was supposed to be offered 7 am-10 but I was woken up at 8am for it, I also did not have an option of what I would eat. There was no hot water in the shower the first two nights and when I let them know they did nothing. During my stay I started to swell up and get hives, this was the middle of hati and there was no hospital nearby so I had to wait till I got back to Dominican Republic where I had to be injected with multiple medications. I believe it was from the paint in the room and the bed because the paint was falling and there were black spots in the bed. Do not book this, I have never been in so much pain then after my visit.

Good morning Perla, I am sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay with us. At Les Résidences Etang du Jonc we care deeply about our guests’ comfort and safety. So we take very seriously their suggestions and comments. That said, as you realized, we are located in a quiet Residential area overlooking the city, surrounded by trees and various plants. We pride ourselves in offering a natural environment in the heart of Petion Ville. Although, around this time of the year our maintenance team must constantly sweep the falling leaves several times a day, we think it is a small price to pay to maintain the natural charm of the property. Breakfast is served in the main dining room, as you later learned, not in the rooms. It is unfortunate that you initially believed otherwise. Furthermore, for the safety and comfort of our guests, we hardly rely on the national grid for electricity. We invested early on in both a solar power system and a standby diesel powered generator. This helps to ensure our power autonomy to continually power up the a/c, water heater and meet our various electrical needs inside and around the property without interruption for the comfort of our guests. We also pride ourselves in the cleanliness of the facilities. Our maintenance team readily and swiftly addresses any issue that may arise. We keep the lines of communication open. Consequently, our staff is instructed to conduct routine inspections of the rooms and to quickly address guests’ complaints. Also, As a standard practice, we thoroughly clean and disinfect every room once a guest leaves. Once again, We are sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay with us. Beautiful and comfortable property. The property is very well kept, very safe and staff make you feel very comfortable. Breakfast was good and the coffee served to my husband was excellent. Guertha, the property manager was very nice, attentive to our needs. The ground keeper was helpful too in helping with, the gate when we come late in the evening. What we didnt like was, after we booked our hotel, and received a confirmation email with Expedia and the room type that, we reserved when we got there, we were told that, they didnt see our reservation. They didn't have our rooms. Were were told that, we should've called ahead of time to confirmed our reservation. Per Expedia, once we are confirmed, we do not need to call the property. Guertha, nicely managed to give us another "upgraded" room for their mistakes of, not checking their reservations, upcoming guests, and their bookings. What we were not told is that, they will charge more for the room than, what I reserved and agreed to pay with Expedia. When I checked my account, I was overcharged without my consent for the price of the "upgraded " room which we did not request. (My husband and I thought, they upgraded us because they didnt have our room available when we got there) I hope that, reservations and the keeping of the upcoming guests and their reservations are taking more seriously next time. Otherwise...we loved & enjoyed our 3 nights stay!

Further, the initial amount that was quoted to you when you booked the reservation should not change unless you personally made a change. As far as we know, there were no changes between the time your reservation was confirmed and the time you checked in. I really thought this place was a gem for the price. It was located on top of a steep hill but had a nice swimming pool. I really liked the garden style. It had an almond and cherry tree. Just a beauty. I wish more people knew about. Also there are other options for other types of rooms, which I would like to try in the future.

Day, noon, or night, the mountain view is the star for this location! The property is lovely, with tropical foliage and clean design. The staff, especially Gertha, Alex, and Dieuveul, are very professional and take their customer service brand seriously. Events by local artists add cultural flair. Worth visiting if you want to experience Haiti!

Thank you for the feedback Addi. As you know, Les Résidences Etang du Jonc offers a variety of units ranging from rooms to appartements, each different from one another at various prices. No two of our units look alike or are the same price. Every guest, before booking, has an opportunity to choose the unit that fit his budget, taste, or need. Each room/ or apartment is featured on Expedia with the corresponding price and pictures. It is unfortunate that despite your Expedia confirmation and picture on your phone that matched exactly the room you chose, you felt the need to pressure the staff and demand another more expensive one. Truth be told, They offered you the opportunity to upgrade and pay the difference. You declined. As you acknowledged, however, they made every effort to make you feel at home. Because, our motto is to make every guest feel when they stay with us, that this is “their home away from home.” Despite this hiccup, as you could tell, we still enjoyed hosting you. Thank you for your business.
