This 3-level home sleeps up to 12 and is located on Ponte Vedra Beach, just minutes from Vilano Beach and historic Downtown St. Augustine. This beach home is located directly on the Atlantic Ocean. Check out the beautiful panoramic views of miles and miles of beach, spectacular sun rises and amazing sunset skies. Experience endless beach walks, surf fishing, swimming, sun bathing, paddle and skim boarding, surfing, shell and shark teeth searching...the list goes on. Enjoy lounging on our very spacious deck, watching the waves come crashing in. Our beautiful home is located on A1A about 5 miles north of the North Bridge going into historical St. Augustine where you can enjoy touring the town by trolley, golf cart, walking, or car. The architecture of this building is nothing short of amazing, but is even better when seen during St Augustine’s “Nights of Lights” that really lights up this and all St Augustine’s buildings from mid November through the end of January. Discover the rich history of historic St. Augustine by visiting landmarks like the Old Jail Museum, St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, The Bridge of Lions and Ponce De Leon’s Fountain of Youth. Take a stroll down Magnolia Street where the cascading branches of the oak trees are so amazing that they have been featured in many publications, including National Geographic Magazine. St. George Street, a pedestrian only road in the heart of the historic district, is lined with charming shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Make sure to go to Anastasia State Park for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, birdwatching, and experience their pristine white sand beaches and vibrant history. Head over to the St Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park and sign up for one of their many animal encounters. Get up close to them feed the alligators, crocodiles, Galapagos turtles, and also sloths. They offer educational shows, zip lines, and plenty of exhibits of native Florida wildlife. Travel back in time, all the way to 1565 by walking through one of the 4 forts in St Augustine including Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, the oldest masonry fortification in the continental United States as well as Fort Matanzas National Monument, an historic Spanish fort located on Rattlesnake Island. Note that a public beach/public beach parking is right next door to the house, but wasn’t a problem for us. They have plenty of beach toys and chairs which is nice. Mattresses need replacing, they dip in and are lumpy. The sofa pull out mattress is very uncomfortable.Bath towels smelled off, once we washed they were fine.Sand has now covered the last few steps down to the beach- so you just slide down.Refrigerator is less than ideal, it took 8-10 hours to get cool, there are specific instructions, which we followed, just took longer than 4 hours. However, we shouldn’t have to follow specific instructions to make sure the food doesn’t spoil. Kitchen needs new pans and more mixing bowls. No TV or closet in the bunk bedroom House sits close to the A1A highway. You can hear the cars fly by in the front bedroom all night. The door code worked first time to get us into the property. House was clean and looked exactly as the pictures posted on the listing. The kitchen was open and had lots of space which was welcomed for our large family. The back patio was the best feature along with the easy beach access.The rooms were spacious and the living room and sun room over looking the beach gave us plenty of room for our family of 7 to relax inside. The air conditioner did struggle to keep up in the middle of summer but did provide a cool break from the heat outside. Our first night there was a power outage on the street and the maintenance manager was easy to get in the phone and great with keeping us updated. He was also quick to respond with how to get the fire out working as the emailed instructions weren't correct. He also confirmed where the key was to turn on the propane once the tank was opened up by the AC units outside.Overall we had a great stay and the area offered plenty of amenities with a Publix grocery store and multiple restaurants and cafes within a short drive. The house was very well stocked with everything we needed (ie beach chairs, boogie boards, etc). Multi level back yard was really nice and was great for those days not sitting on the beach. Parking is good. A few cons - ice maker didn't work. - no extra towels for showers. - a/c and fan in sun room didn't work. -there's a pullout bed in the sunroom but no sheets available, mattress didn't appear to be very comfortable and fortunately didn't need to use. -hammock appears to be broken and was stored under the porch. -need blinds for master bedroom. -no fan remote in master, no way to adjust speed. The place was very clean and comfortable. Everything on the listing was accurate from the stocked kitchen to the beach toys in garage. Beds were great as were the bathrooms, very clean, even the baseboards. Wonderful location, close to everything but not much traffic. Aunt Kates is about 3 miles down the road and I highly recommend eating there! Had to wait to get in a little bit, 10 people, but best food and service we experienced! We hope to be back again. The house was very nice, modern kitchen, good bedrooms. The house was very clean and well kept up. The greatest asset was the beach is your back yard. I had several communications with the renter and she was very easy to work with. We all had a great week.
