I had no choice but to book this hotel due to a conference scheduled to take place at the hotel.
When you walk into the lobby, it looks like a nice hotel. The reception desk is to the far left past an awkwardly placed ATM machine. It looked like no one was behind the desk until you came closer and someone was sitting so low behind the counter, you could not see that person unless she stood up. You would've think, being Korea and customer service is very well established, that she would greet you upon hearing the rolling of your luggage wheels however, she just sat there until you put your elbows on the counter and said "excuse me".
I get it that Pohang is an industrial city and that the hotel is not an international hotel, so English is not practiced however, about 200 people were attending this conference and they knew well in advance the Americans were coming.
I went to the hotel gym only to find it dark and unoccupied. The bar was also "closed". It was a ghost hotel, only the woman behind the reception counter was the only employee.
I bought the daily breakfast buffet package for KrW10,000. I came to breakfast around 0800 every morning and most of the food was gone. The porridge looked like it stayed in the crock pot overnight and became a pot of thick paste with a crust on top. The eggs were cold and the rice was old! Not worth the money.
The room is a comfortable size but scary! The carpet looks as if someone was mass-murdered and no one bothered to clean it. The ba
