We fell in love with this hotel. My husband came here as a teenager with his mother sixty years ago and was delighted to find the same ambience, charm and hospitality as then. I found the staff wonderfully friendly and the hotel itself is amazing, so full of character and history. We came here because it was out fortieth wedding anniversary and am so glad we chose it. I recommend it to anyone who appreciates old fashioned courtesy and a peaceful and relaxing location. We were sad to hear it's closing next year but are so grateful that we had the chance to experience this totally unique place.

If buildings could speak, this one would be screaming “Run Away” This hotel looks like a building from Chernobyl; and not like a 4 Star hotel. Buildings are not structurally safe. Very little in the room beside a bed, and a bathroom from 1970. Breakfast and dinner served cold, despite numerous complaints from other guests. Don't be fooled by the relative cheapness and proximity to Troodos, this so called 'hotel' is in fact some sort of large scale psychological experiment about human suffering and gullibility," The sheets on the bed looked like they had enjoyed a long career in a particularly messy and degrading part of the adult film industry. If there is an opposite to memory foam (amnesia foam?) that is what the bed was made of. Summary: Outdated , Unclean, Unsafe, Poor Maintenance, Unhelpful Staff, Cold food. Do your research before booking.

Really lovely hotel, I love the history and the antique style of the hotel. Not to everyone’s taste, but I enjoy that kind of thing. The breakfast was ok.. hot food was very cold. Coffee wasn’t the best. Our room was right under a generator that was going all night so it was very noisy all night. One of the bath towels had a poo stain on and I didn’t notice it until I had finished drying myself so I had to have another shower. No bath plug so my 5 year old had to have a shower. Could do with a deep clean but I’d say 7/10 experience. Staff were friendly. Indoor Pool was freezing so didn’t even bother and the sauna and hot tub was broken. Despite this I Would stay again. Lovely views throughout. Nice historic place.

We have stayed at Forest Park Hotel many times because of its great location & cleanliness unfortunately their standard of cleanliness was very poor. The bathroom especially was very dirty. Breakfast was also not very good. Would not recommend!

We asked to have a room with a nice view the receptionist said it is, but we had a room with balcony and no view. We only stayed overnight, overall it was ok.

Fab old hotel
We loved our stay up in the mountains. The hotel had so much history and a real old world charm. Could do with a bit of tlc in places but we found it very comfortable and the staff were great. The baby / toddler play room was perfect for our 6 month old and 2 year old to be entertained for an afternoon and the staff were wonderful with them both.

This was our 4th time to the hotel unlike other times the indoor pool was freezing. Also like the last time the hot breakfast was lukewarm due to trays not being very warm Everything else was as expected though at this time of year it was not very busy.

Very old hotel. Too expensive for what it has to offer. Bad breakfast. Football kids’ tour on site making a lot of noise in room next door and making it impossible to sleep, had to complaint several times to reception with little action. Do not recommend to stay here.

Lovely setting. On our stay we encountered Kids football teams lots of them running Around the corridor's on all floors ill mannered and had to ask reception to step in and take control. Hotels bit jaded in parts Nice staff and breakfast good.

Great location, room was good and comfortable but the hotel in general needs an update, the pool was filthy and unsure if it was open or not but there was nothing to say it was closed. Breakfast was adequate but the warmers didn’t keep the food warm.

Bizarre!
This ancient tomb is well beyond its prime. It is like going back in time to the 1950's - nothing has been done to update it - no USB or electrical outlets to charge your electonics. The room was freezing cold. Terribly understaffed. I can only describe dinner and breakfast as weird. The only redeeming feature was that it was not too expensive. Try looking elsewhere.

"Family room" was same as our friends had as a "standard double room", just in place of side table with chairs we had extra bed for a kid. Pictures given on hotels.com page for a family room are wrong.

Family friendly, rooms a bit dated, but very comfortable and clean. Close to ski slopes. Lovely lounge area, with good food and friendly staff. We would return again to use as a base for skiing or exploring the mountains.

Comfortable stay in Platres
Comfortable hotel , with character. The room was clean with lovely balcony facing the pine trees. The outdoor pool was lovely but not heated so only for the brave in October. There is an inside heated pool but we didn’t have time to try it. Food had enough variety both at breakfast and evening meal.

Unacceptable behavior from hotel's management
Disappointment!! Despite of the fact that the normal check in time is at 14:00, the hotel management decided to delay the check in ( of four elderly people, my parents & my uncle and aunt- two rooms) because they prefered to give a late check out to some young footballers in order to be able to relax until 16:00!! When my parents arrived at 14:45, the receptionist said that they will need 30 minutes to prepare the room & they offered free drinks for that period. At 16:30 my parents were informed that the rooms were ready. They took their luggage and they went to the 6th floor to see what?!! That the rooms were still being cleaned & prepared!! After a lot of discussions the two rooms were ready at 17:00!!! Nobody of the hotels staff gave reasonable excuses for this incident. I understood that this behavior is normal!! This is unacceptable!! Unfortunately i think we cannot do do much about that. P.S fortunately for us ( family with two small kids) our room was ready at 14:45 when we arrived.

Lovely setting
It’s such a lovely hotel and is situated in such a beautiful part of the Cyprus mountains. The pool area is in a stunning setting. You don't feel like you are in the mountains. It’s an old hotel and holds itself well but some minor maintenance is needed. We’d definitely stay there again.
