The best areas to stay in Pieres are the coastal towns of Paralia, Olympic Beach, and Leptokarya, offering a mix of relaxation and convenience.Paralia is a popular choice for those wanting to be at the heart of the action. It's known for its long, sandy beach and a promenade lined with shops, cafes, and tavernas. The main thoroughfare, Agiou Nikolaou Street, runs parallel to the beach and is a focal point for activity. You'll find a wide range of accommodation options here, from smaller family-run hotels to larger resorts. For families, Olympic Beach (Olympiaki Akti) is an excellent option. Located just a few kilometres south of Paralia, it's connected by a pleasant walking and cycling path. This area is generally quieter than Paralia but still offers a lovely sandy beach and a good selection of restaurants and shops. The calmer environment and dedicated pedestrian areas make it very suitable for those travelling with children.Leptokarya, further south, is another fantastic option, particularly for couples seeking a more relaxed escape with beautiful views. It sits at the foot of Mount Olympus, offering a dramatic backdrop to its long, sandy and pebbly beach.

The best time to visit Pieria is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October. These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures superb for exploring the region's historical sites and natural beauty without the intense heat and larger crowds of mid-summer. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming, and most tourist facilities will be fully operational.July and August are also popular, especially for families looking for beach holidays. While the weather is consistently hot and sunny, you should expect more visitors and higher prices during these peak summer months.
