"This unit is not in Sao Roque. It is 20 minutes away. It was very difficult to find the unit. It is a nice house in a beautiful little remote village. Has an amazing view and is very close to the local natural pool. The restaurant served great food but does close early. "

"Casa Rosa (the Pink House) was the perfect spot for our 5 days on Pico for our group of three couples. The owner, Manuel, speaks English fluently and is extremely helpful. He, and his brother- and sister-in-law, who live next door, were very responsive to any issues we had, including coming over at 11 pm to restore power lost during a storm, and responding within a few minutes when one of our party got locked in a bathroom! And, after all their help THEY gave US a bottle of wine for our trouble!...

"The air was very damp and smelled like mold. There was indeed some black mold on the shower curtain and on the window curtain. Everything felt slightly damp in the room including our pillows. "Beautiful houses in a rural setting. I rented the apartment downstairs. It has a great little kitchen and a comfortable bedroom. The patio has stunning views of Sao Jorge Island, and when you look up at night all you see is stars. Peaceful setting. The owner, Laura, is kind and welcoming. She'll tell you all about the restaurants and sites to see on the island. She loves Pico, and you will, too!!"
