"This is a family ran lodge with plenty of character. Rudy and Claudia are very helpful and attentive The dogs, cat, llama and little rabbit are super friendly as well. Perfect place to kick back and relax, it is a little tough to get in and out of there so plan accordingly. The place is a little rough on the edges, but that is the exact appeal. It’s a work in progress. Walking distance from the Maras Salt Mines through a little village Overall, I’d come back and would recommend "

"Lovely hotel, really enjoyed the quiet, calm setting at the foot of a steep mountain, with the sound of a stream rushing by and wonderful gardening including tons of flowers. "This was incredible. If you are looking for a 5 star resort this may not be for you , but if you want a real authentic experience with an incredible view , I mean incredible. (This is saying a lot as I am from Alaska and have a high level of expectation for views ) the family that runs the base camp and restraint were so sweet this was one of the most memorable stays I’ve had in my life. "One of the best travel experiences I have had. Xavier and Erica are incredible hosts and people. The lodge and grounds are beautiful. Filled with beautiful plants , trees, and flowers. The lodge feels like an old ruin brought back to life. The rooms are beautiful and very rustic. The beds are extremely comfortable. Beautiful dining room for meals. The lodge is peaceful, quiet, and a short moto taxi ride from downtown. Lastly, two charming German sheapards make the lodge feel like a home away...

"Greatly enjoyed my stay at Taypikala Boutique. Scenic location in heart of town, conveniences and train station within easy walking distance. Excellent breakfast. An unexpected, pleasant surprise was a drinking water machine in the lobby, saving me from going out and buying plastic water bottles. I don't see this very often and it was very much appreciated. I highly recommend this beautiful, cozy hotel."

"We were very happy with our stay here. We stayed 2 separate nights here. There was an initial confusion with the booking. It was hotels.com or Expedia fault. They didn’t send them that we would be 3 people even though we had specified it in our reservation. Hotels.com customer service was horrible and useless but Tierra Viva staff was very nice about it and didn’t charge us anything extra. The rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. We were on the upper floors on both occasions. The staff helped carry our luggage to the rooms and also bring them down at checkout. We left 2 pieces of luggage during our first stay. When we returned they had put the luggage in our room already. Location of the hotel is very central and close to the main square. Area was lively and felt very safe. Breakfast had good selection and the staff helped us get some hot milk for our son. Overall apply with our stay and would be glad to come back. "
