WiFi is the most important thing to me in a hotel room. I don't book a hotel unless it has WiFi.
I arrived late and needed about an hour on a WiFi connection to research the next day's business. The WiFi didn't work. I could connect to the router but had no internet service. A call to the front desk didn't offer any solution.
The next morning, internet connection was established and I was awakened by the sound of new email in my inbox. I suspect the hotel's router just needed to be reset - powered down and powered up again. It was too late for me to do my research before my day started.
No WiFi or spotty WiFi happens often enough in my travels to be a problem. Hotels need to understand that what may seem like an additional perk to them is very important to some guests. If the electricity goes off late at night, a hotel will make every effort to fix it that night. If WiFi goes off late at night, it isn't OK with me that it is fixed the next morning. I wouldn't have booked your hotel if I knew the WiFi would not be working.
