Wonderful stay. Excellently maintained property, the pictures of the outdoor space don’t do it justice- it’s so beautiful. Lots of towels, fast Wi-Fi, lots of kitchen stuff, very responsive host, everything you need! Hot tub under the moon was dreamy!
This was our second stay and it is becoming one of our favorites. Loved all the updates! If you want peace and quiet in nature, this is the place for you. We were too busy enjoying the sand, sun, and water to take pictures.
This place is granny chic. We loved the decor, screened in porch surrounded by trees and birds, floating and fishing on the river, and playing cards around the dinning room table. One of our best vacations!!
Loved exploring the property. We took small hikes to the sandbars. We saw so many deer. Linens were fresh and place was clean. Close enough to town but also far enough away to feel secluded. Perfect place to get away.
This property was perfect for my family and I. We played in the creek and the hot tub most days, but also went on walks down the many trails and even played basketball. The back porch is perfect for morning coffee sits and the quiet is so peaceful.
Extremely quiet and peaceful area, beautiful home with all the necessary amenities for entertainment or doing nothing but watching the river. I wish I would had a golf cart or atv the place is that expansive.
This place brought back so many memories of swimming and camping on Red Creek. We live only a few miles from this property, and with our son and his children visiting from Minnesota as well as our daughters and their families from Baton Rouge, this was the perfect place to stay and make new memories. We enjoyed swimming, floating, fishing. Everything this property offered. We will be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. It was my whole family brothers, sisters, mom, dad, and etc. It brought us back to when we were young. The serenity of the property, enjoyment of the creek. My family now wants to make this property a yearly vacation.
Want a place for frequent quality family time indoors and outdoors? This is THE place to be. Ride trails, hike, kayak, fish, campfire cooking, grilling, soaking in the hot tub and much more! Thank you Chris for putting together such an amazing space. We will be back next October again!
This property was beautiful inside and out! There was so much character is the main house with unique sleeping arrangements. The smaller house was more recently updated and only had one private bedroom, the bathroom was through the room with the 2 queen beds - it worked for our group but was surprisingly when we first checked in.
The outside space was what we booked this property for, the screened in porch, large deck, trails to creek sand bar, oh my!
Absolutely beautiful!
We hope we have an opportunity to book this place in the future.
I really enjoyed our stay on the property. It was located near an awesome Creek that you could view from the the guest home. The main home had enough room for all of our family to enjoy themselves on the porches and on the deck. It was very quiet and peaceful. If you like the sound of nature at night it is definitely a plus. There were no bugs nor mosquitoes and flies were at a minimum. The only downside, for some, is that it is definitely an off-road experience. Be ready for your cars to be dirty and for it to be dark at night. We will definitely be visiting the property again I love the experience and the privacy.
My husband said this was the most relaxing vacation he’d ever had. We only live about 20 minutes from there but had never done a getaway in our own “backyard”. Ten family members slept there and nine more came on Saturday for grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Red Creek is very low because of the drought but they set out hooks and caught two tabby cats (catfish). One was about five pounds. The children enjoyed the hot tub, sandbars, kayaks, horse shoes, running/playing and making s’mores in the fire pit. The adults enjoyed visiting, fishing, watching football on the large screen TVs, kayaking, walking and watching the sun make sparkling diamonds on the water. No hustle or bustle just family and nature.
If you love outdoors and privacy this is the place for you! The grounds are beautiful, especially now with flowers blooming all around the property and on both side of the walkway that connects the two houses. Our family hung out in and around the guesthouse during the day and the big house at night. The guesthouse has a great view of the creek below and it is bright with big windows overlooking the creek - very pleasant. The mattresses looked new and are very comfortable.
The big house is very unique and has lots of character - original wood floors, tall ceilings, bead board and wainscoting throughout. It has a comfortable screened in porch which is where we had all our meals. The lofts are spacious and fun for teenagers. Our grandchildren, ages 12 and 14 enjoyed the lofts but I wouldn't use them for small children. One is accessible by a ladder and the other by a steep, steel circular stairway. The VRBO site shows pictures of the ladder and stairway so they shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who rents the place The hot tub on the spacious deck of the big house was a big hit with everyone.
There are many trails to hike. We wished for a four-wheeler while there to ride the trails and would have made taking kayaks to the creek much easier. If you love nature and outdoors like my family does, you will love this place. Thanks to Chris for sharing your beautiful property with us. Thanks to Blake for promptly answering my many questions before we booked the place!
This is a great place to stay! The property has a lot of character. We had a family reunion here with multiple families staying. There was ample room to hang out together and places for privacy as well.
This place was amazing... definitely staying again. We seen wild turkeys, rabbits, and deer. Everything about the houses was perfect. I wish there was some kinda history of the house, it is pretty old, and i love history.
This was our family getaway. Enjoying some nature & good country living. The kids enjoyed kayaking on the beautiful creek, sand bars, riding the trails, hot tub, & campfire smores. It was a great place to stay !
This is our second time to stay, and it was just as enjoyable as the first time. The new renovations are a splendid improvement: another full bath on the first floor, full bathroom on the second floor and a sky bridge connecting the second story twin bedroom with the loft bedroom. Twelve family members were able to stay and six others joined us on Memorial Day for a cookout on the deck. We will be back!
This was the most incredible property & house we have ever rented. We had the whole house full of our family & was the absolute best way to ring in the new year. we will be coming back as much as they will let us :)
