Nice hotel close to the beach

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel Mariela in Polis, Cyprus.

Family owned warm cozy hotel

Room seemed aged,but fully equipped with all kitchen materials. Wifi was working fine. Air conditioner controlable. Hot waters temp was not very adjustable, it felt cold a little in winter. Located in the centre of the town and easy to get to and from the main bus stop of polis. Stayed in winter and it seemed I was the only one guest, but I felt welcomed and as they offered cakes and juice and other stuff which looked almost everything in their refrige.

Nice value, walkable neighborhood

Warm welcome in the quiet offseason with great offseason pricing. Kitchenette has lots of counter space and equipment. The room was very spacious, a good spot to unpack and repack. Furnishings and look a little dated, but all functional. Manager very friendly and helpful with area information.

Room for Improvement.

Hastily booked for 4 nights owing to places becoming scarce for the time we wanted in the wake of the Monarch collapse. Reviews of the Mariela were overwhelmingly good and not just of the 'owners friends' type. The price was very low so our expectations were not high but even so, Mariela was disappointing. It could be that Block C apartments were of a different standard from those in Blocks A and B but we didn't stay long enough to find out, leaving after one night.

Value for money and well placed

Had a lovely holiday in Mariella apartments in Polis and its surrounds. The owners were amazing, seemed to be available on hand 24 hours a day and obviously very well known to their regular clients. Expedia's description of the facilities in this hotel is wrong as there were no tablets or cabled internet or dvd in apartments but at such a reasonable cost I really wasn't expecting any. It also was a least an hour from Pathos. The apartments and public areas were as expected - a bit shabby and could do with a really good deep clean and spruce up. However, the facilities were adequate for our needs, and in fact I was pleasantly surprised we had a TV and hairdryer along with plenty of (UK 3 pin) plug sockets. The sheets and towels were tidied every day and changed several times during our week there and we noted housekeepers very hard at work cleaning windows etc.

For the price we paid the apartment did it's job, the room was basic but clean and tidy, as it was out of session it was also quiet which suited us. I booked a family room as we where there for a biking weekend and the room had plenty of space to accommodate these

Central to town and close to beach

Our room was very basic and this is reflected in the price we paid. However, the owners make you feel very welcome and our room was cleaned daily, except Sundays, and bed linen and towels were changed regularly.

Очень очень здорово!

Отель в центре маленького удаленного прибрежного городка. Хозяин и Ко очень приветливы, всегда готовы пойти навстречу. На территории 2 отличных бассейна. Супермаркет рядом. Единственное, до городского пляжа ок. 20 минут пешком.

Returned customer that will not visit again

They gave us AC remote controls at checking without informing us that there was a charge. When we were trying to checkout there was an extra charge of 40 euros for the ACs. When we ask why they did not inform us during check in they said that it mentioned in the site that we booked. After it was mentioned to me and check the site, I did find that at the end of a very long page. However, still they had to inform me when they gave me the remotes. However, the worst was the attitude at the reception. She was acting like I was trying to steal from her. I was a returning customer to the hotel but will not go there again due to their attitude and not about the extra charges.

THE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE, THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL THE HOTEL IS VALUE FOR MONEY. THE OWNER MADE US ENJOY OUR HOLIDAYS. WE ARE GOING TO VISIT POLIS CHRYSOCHOUS AND THE HOTEL FOR SURE AGAIN.

very pleasant - The Hotel was in a good location, close to everything. The room was spacious and clean and stuff was more than willing to help us with everything! Mariela Hotel will always be my first choice on a getaway at Polis Chrysochou.
