UPDATED! Welcome to Calypso 1008 West Our condo is a three bedroom two bath beach residence that sleeps up to 8 comfortably because all the rooms and the living area are quite large. You’ll find the balcony views of the world’s most beautiful beaches to be wonderful. We like to bring our binoculars along when we come so that we can enjoy our morning coffee while we watch the dolphins playing in the gulf. We’ve made sure that our condo is decorated for maximum comfort. We wanted to create the feel of home at the beach. We also wanted to make this a home away from home. For us and for our guests. Calypso is located right across from Pier Park so you can get to this shopping and entertainment mecca without getting in your car. Please note you will be required to pay $60 per vehicle to register your car, one bedroom units are allowed one car and 2/3 bedrooms are allowed 2. The condo was the perfect size and location. It had a few beach chairs and umbrella in the closet that we also got to use which was a perk, we expected to buy some once there. We had room to relax after long beach days and the kitchen had essentials for cooking. The condo has 2 pools, a bar and a small restaurant attached which was very convenient. Walking to dinner, a short walk to the water, plenty of evening kids activities in Pier Park. Condo was clean, we have been coming at least once a year for 10 years but with kids travel sports this is our 3rd time in 3 months. This was one of the nicer 3 bedrooms we stayed in. Not too much furniture you can't move around, clean, simple and furnished. The only complaint and it is a well known complaint is getting into the parking garage. They now have a person posted at the garage gate which is a nice feature but the electronic system they use is a nuisance. I don't have access to a printer to print the parking pass in the condo and the barcode on the phone doesn't work all the time. They need a keypad to open it. The hours for the hotel bar are ridiculously short now as well. We use to enjoy getting a night cap there but that's not an option anymore as they close by 7\. The latches on balcony sliding fore was broken.. this was a big safety issue as we had little ones and they found this pretty quickly and we had to monitor this very closely.. The air conditioner did not work so room was 80 or more from day one… Beach equipment was dirty and still full of sand in closet, floor tile broken, door bell cover missing, sprinkler head covers were pulled out of wall, dryer didn’t work well.. We spent most of time trying to get management to respond to issues. They should have moved us due to all issues but didn’t happen.. We spent thousands to get there for a enjoyable time.. tried to find other accommodations on our own with out any luck.. We were given a small refund. We were ignored and still have no response from management.. We felt we should’ve Been moved and offered an extended stay in a condo without all the issues to make up for the inconvenience.. No response from management company really upsetting.. We did our part notifying of issues. We feel we should get a full refund.. spent lot of money for subpar results!!! ##### Brandy R. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children and it was plenty of space to sleep as well as for meal and TV watching , the balcony its also spacious. Kitchen has all you need to prep meals, laundry room (bonus closet) had beach chairs and beach toys it was pleasant surprise. Overall it was a nice place to stay, my family and I will definitely will be rent again. Restaurants , shopping and entertainment a few steps away. Tip; if you would like to avoid the crowded grocery store , you can place your order on line(up to 7 days before your arrival) from Walmart just across the street and pick them up, saves you time and $$! The people responded to my questions promptly and gave me assistance when I needed it. The parking situation could be improved but I’m not sure your company has any say so in that area. The cleanliness was terrible. The floors were filthy, the balcony had something sticky all over it that we had to clean before sitting out there, the beds had sand in them as well, and we discovered a use condom hanging from a lamp in the master bedroom. The management did come and remove the condom but we swept and cleaned the floors ourselves and cleaned the beds prior to being able to get in them the first evening. ##### Dinah H. As going to parking deck 3 to unload your vehicle . the Condo had unclean dishes , floors were not moped . the location of where the condo was at was perfect .
