The perfect score above only reflects what we felt about the house and its management team. The number of negative experiences on this vacation only occurred with the extra items:
1. The house did not have enough of the basic cleaning items like broom pans, dish towels, starter sets of bath/kitchen items. Most luxury rentals offer more for the price.
2. For the price of the house we found it unusual that beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas were not included in the price of the rental as so many beach houses do include these items
3. Our rental bikes and golf carts were a waste of our money. This rental house is located so far from the other small 30 A towns with only a major highway connecting them so one needed to take a car, not a bike or golf cart on the highway, to the other small 30 A towns and restaurants. It would be very helpful to include in the rental property description this fact so that your customers can adjust their expectations and arrangements up front.
4. We reserved and paid half of the rental house cost about 5 months before we were emailed by the associated “Concierge Service” company about their services.. We had already made most of our plans for caterers, bonfire, and photography with services we have used previously in 30 A by the time the “Concierge Service” was introduced to us. This late and unclear introduction of the “Concierge Service” as a company we absolutely had to use for extras we wanted rather than other vendors was a nightmare. The “Concierge Service” was the opposite of any like kind service we have used before in all ways. It cost us too much time, stress, confusion, and money to deal with the objections and rebooking and unprofessionalism of the “Concierge Service “ company in trying to have the special experiences we had arranged early in the process. We later were told that this particular “Concierge Service” was a new, recently added associate of the rental company. Surely the managers can do a better job of finding a more professional group to use in the future and definitely any requirements or limitations to only use the provider should be introduced and explained to a client before they sign and pay the rental agreement. Your customers should be able to choose the services they need “ala cart”. We were told we had to pay for the service of this company a large fee every day if we wanted any outside services at all during the week. That is not market. Thanks
