Loved the size of our suite. The bed was comfy and there was plenty of room to hang out on the sofa and watch tv, a desk in case you need to work and a small but full kitchen with silverware, plates etc and wine glasses. The complimentary breakfast was so convenient. Bagels, yogurt, cereal, juices, and delicious coffee. It’s right on the beach and our spacious side balcony had a partial ocean view. The only negative was that there are only 5 cabanas on the beach so if you’re not out there early, especially Friday and Saturday, you don’t get a chair at the beach, which is the whole reason for our visit to Florida. We took coffee out to the beach at 8:30 am every day and got our spot. 😎

Anything negative I could say doesn’t matter to me because the view of the ocean was amazing!! You look out and see the sand and water-exactly what we wanted. Two large bedroom windows and a large window in the living room. Absolutely beautiful! The bed was comfortable, no blanket. This is an old hotel and the rooms show it. If you want a luxury hotel and maybe a nice large with tub bathroom, then this is not for you. Staff are great!! The room was not cleaned well. Hair on the floor. No paper towels or towel in the kitchen- we washed our dishes but we couldn’t dry. Very minor but no Keurig. The coffeemaker was fine. I am very picky so all the negative really didn’t bother me. GO FOR THE OCEAN VIEW! it was so relaxing! Oh! We came on a Tues and the restaurant was closed. Bummer! But we knew from reading the hotel info

The Ambassador is atrocious! Without warning their arriving guests, they shut down both their passenger elevator and their freight elevator, for days, leaving the most fit guests to drag their suitcases up 5-6 flights of stairs in a cramped, hot and narrow staircase. An elderly guest was confined to a wheelchair and his younger family had to try to carry him in his wheelchair up the same stairs. That’s definitely atrocious and violates the ADA, by advertising themselves as wheelchair-friendly. Absolutely NO assistance from staff was ever considered! No manager was available to assist and the totally callous and disrespectful person at the checkin desk was so uncaring that he would only say, “come back downstairs in a few minutes and I will give you the manager’s email.” The room reminds you of a spartan summer camp with windows that won’t open and a very noisy window unit swamp cooler that barely cools the room and only adds to the humidity. At check-in, they tried to downgrade us from our reservation for an oceanfront room to a side facing room with only a view of the roof and the parking lot. Their “complimentary breakfast” is just a couple of stale bagels and oatmeal. The swimming pool was very dirty and the water level was so low that it couldn’t possibly reach the filtration drain. There were just a couple of rusted deck chairs around it. Totally unsafe for actually sitting in! The only saving grace is the location on a quiet stretch of beach.

First and foremost we apologize that our passenger elevator had an unforeseen breakdown. There was no way of knowing that the passenger elevator would be out of service before it broke down. Our service elevator was working and there was signage on each floor to contact the reception to have a team member bring the elevator up to get you as it operated manually. Otis elevator was here all that weekend trying to repair it. finally, on Monday it was fixed. Our pool is full and was also addressed. We are sorry your experience was so disappointing. We will use your feedback to improve. We strive for good experiences for our guests and are sorry that did not happen in your case.

Was pretty skeptical because I read all the horrible reviews but quite surprised that it wasn't like that at all. My travel companion and I were both very impressed with the size of our two bedroom two bath. The balcony faced the ocean. We were on the fourth floor. Our unit was clean and updated. We had plenty of hangers, dishes, utensils. There were no paper towels so we went to the store and bought some. There's a coffee pot in the room but you only get one coffee pod. Since we had a rental car we went to the store and bought food and brought it back. There is one ice tray so you will have to buy ice. Good water pressure. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. They do provide but it's not much. It was very quiet even though many of the owners have pets we did not hear barking. We were there in April so it wasn't real crowded. It is an older hotel so I couldn't help but wonder how many celebrities stayed there back in the day. Having a rental car was a must. We did not eat at the restaurant but I heard it was a little bit on the expensive side. The continental breakfast is just exactly what that means not much to eat but most hotels who have continental breakfast give you oatmeal fruit and cold cereal. This place is no different. Many reviews commented about not having lots of towels so we brought our own beach towels. Each bathroom had bath towels a hand towel and a washcloth. Unfortunately we did not get the maid service on the third day like we thought.

The bathroom and bedroom were clean, but the dining room still had the prior tenant's crumbs on the floor. The living room couch smelled overwhelmingly like feet, which forced us to open the windows...which didn't stay open, so we had to prop them open with shoes and whatnot. The location was fine, but for $450 per night, it was NOT worth it, and I would never go back.

I could not have asked for a better resort to take a vacation. The dining staff is extremely helpful, and the manager,Wade goes above and beyond. And hats off to Chad, who should get the award for front desk person of the century. They really make you feel like family., It was wonderful!

The location which was on the beach was the best thing about it. The property was not very well kept up with. The sheets had pills on it and were rough. The towels also so old they felt like sand paper. The kitchen was not well stop with thing needed to enjoy your stay barely any Utensils t work with. The cabana and lounges on beach were old and not kept up with. They were ripped and dirty. The pool side could be wonderful but again umbrella were old and ripped and just looked terrible. No land line in room for emergencies. This property has potential because of where it is but overall very disappointment for the $400 a night that we spent.

My room was dirty. Ceiling fan looked like it would fall off the ceiling. Shower curtain had a bunch of stains on it. The microwave had not been cleaned, the people before me cooked something cheesy in it. The bathroom faucet was disgusting, brushed teeth in the kitchen sink. Everything was just run down and dirty. Literally getting what you pay for. But it is right on the beach, but the beach loungers were broke down and uncomfortable and they never had clean towels available. Wishing I could attach photos.

Our room was a studio type apartment. The room smelled like Raid bug spray (although my daughter did not notice the smell) or chemicals of some sort. The dishwasher had standing brown water ...which I think is the origin of the smell. The bed was comfy and the views were pretty. The breakfast was very basic (bread, yogurt and instant oatmeal). The room was ok for sleeping, but I would not recommend it if you plan to relax in the room.

Our apt was lovely but strange items missing no soap dish no toothbrush holder not enough towels, I used to rent an apt every year for many years, and the staff was constantly available, Now the breakfast lady Isabelle is fabulous, but everyone else is barely there we asked for more hangars never arrived, couldn't get the tv to work no-one came, still love it hope to be there next year again

Very dirty, mold in showers and by windows. back staircase smelt like feet and chlorine. We moved multiple rooms all are gross. We had an ant infestation in our bathroom and other guests had the same issue. Brought a pest control company to the hotel mid vacation and we declined to let them spray toxic spray in our room. Offered no discount or solution. Nice location on the beach but the place is an absolute dump and they are not properly maintaining. I imagine this is because the property has sold to a developer and they don’t want to spend money on repairs and maintenance. Trust me. Stay elsewhere

Location is nice and in beach . Rm 510 is in need of maintenance and poorly equipped . 4 glasses, 2 bowls?? No trash can..trickle of water in bathroom sink . Tub and shower need cleaning and caulking .many ceilings paint chipping .. nice pool outside but things are run down . But.,, for being on ocean drive $300 night I’m ok, with the place , but should be better equipped for people looking to cook, eat , etc…

Door knobs broken and the doors got stuck, A.C broken, most windows would not stay open. Only 2 forks 2 spoons, not much to work with in kitchen even though they advertise a full kitchen. Only had 1 dish pod to clean dishes, then you had to wash by hand. Not many towels. No paper towels, barely had plates. The one couche looked dirty and stained like there was to much that happend on the couch. Cant ask for new sheets or comforter, because they said they had to go to another place to replace the sheets or they grab it from another room. "Master Bedroom" with bathroom has the tiniest shower that can barely fit one person in. Had one staff memeber that wasnt the friendliest.. He always said "He dosnt have time" Name was Oscar. Only one elevator so it was hard to get to room, or you had to take the staors. Its not the best for a whole family of 4. Hotel is very old school still using regular keys. Not much to do at the hotel other than the beach which was nice. The restaurant was very nice but is not a place to take kids. It's very fancy though. Just not the best for the younger generations.

The Ambassador has great potential. The price is right for Palm Beach but it's worn out (common areas and fitness center are rundown). The windows need to be replaced and some soap dishes in the shower please! Some staff (Yerril) were very nice and responsive; others lackadaisical. If the Breakers had a one night stand with a Motel 6 on Dixie Highway the Ambassador is the lovechild.

We checked into a suite the couch had multiple stains which was reported and nothing was done to clean or move our room. The shower had old bar of soap and carpet damaged. For a property in west palm beach on the ocean, I would have expected more.

Mixed experience- Lots of Ants
We stayed at The Ambassador for 4 nights in January. We had a 2 br, 2 ba apartment (rm 107). The space was great, it was renovated BUT it was infested with tiny ants. They were all over the kitchen counters, kitchen islands, dining room table, bathrooms. It was disgusting. The staff, who are very nice, tried twice to get rid of them to no avail. When we checked out I asked the woman if they were in every room, and she said they are definitely in 107,207,307 and others and they can’t get rid of them. The common areas are dated, it’s too bad because the Ambassador could be wonderful. The ants really were a huge negative.

Thank you for your stay with us and for your review of the service team and hotel. I am sorry there was a problem with sugar ants. Being on the beach and keeping nature out has its challenges. I know we had the exterminator in your apartment and sent housekeeping to wipe counters well. Not to make excuses but Its common in Florida during heavy rains to have ants get in. This can happen especially if even a small amount of food is present. We use your feedback to improve. We hope to see you again one day. It was an honor to serve.

Beautiful place for a great price!
It is a beautiful property; the rooms are great, and it is nice that they have kitchens, comfortable beds, and more! We loved it.

The outside of the hotel is outdated but the room itself is very spacious and comfortable and clean. Had a great stay. Close to everything.

Good value, room had opportunities for improvement
Location and value were awesome! I was very impressed with every service member we interacted with. The room showed the challenges of maintaining a hotel near the ocean; a lot of rust, some very worn fixtures and our A/C didn’t work. Bed comfort was probably a little below expectations. But the space of the room was really nice.
