Set on the site of an old town from the 1880's, now a working dairy farm, the "Post Office" is a beautiful and comfortable escape to the charm and serenity of the country. The farm offers a unique opportunity to see where the best milk and dairy products are made. Baby cows graze nearby. The farm enjoys some of the best sunshine in California, best night sky, mountain views, sunrises and sunsets. Relax, commune with the animals, birdwatch, hike, sit by a campfire, or whatever suits you. The space The building where this room is located was the original post office in the town of Panoche back in the 1880s. Guest access Guests will be able to observe cows and goats being milked. This happens twice a day. You will also be able to see our calves being fed twice a day. Feeding of the cows happens at various times during the week and you may just be able to see that too depending on the length of your stay. Other things to note The natural aspects of this location are HUGE. This is a very diverse geological and biological area, there is world class birding, there are wildlife to observe, the night sky is fantastic and the climate is great. The wildflowers in the Springtime of a good year (like this) are incomparable. There is no food provided. Bring your own groceries. The bar has pizza and sandwiches and is 5 minutes away. There is a charcoal barbecue available but no food prep place. Very clean, nice appliances, nice shower, and very comfortable bed. This is more of a one bedroom than two as stated. There is a second bed in a loft that is reached from kitchen through garage. Im only 5.1” and I have to duck through the door. Peaceful and serene for sure. The road must be the pothole capitol of the world. The ground squirrels are horrendous. Would advise that you bring peppermint oil spray to keep them out of your car. The dairy was small but interesting to see how things are done. Be aware that roads advertised for off roading are closed from April 1 until Sept. because of fire danger and endangered species. If you want to do things you will have to drive for awhile. We ended up going to the Pinnacles which is 90 min approx. but would highly recommend. If you want to just relax, read and be away from it all its the perfect place. ##### Novelle L. The room/old building we stayed in (Old Post Office) was also great. It was well decorated and comfortable. However, the bathroom is not connected to the building. This, in and of itself, might be ok. However, other people (ranch hands/mechanic?) were also using the bathroom. This freaked my wife out, especially after showering. This may just be a logistical issue for the property owners and easily remedied. However, we did not stay for the second night. ##### David D.
