Created by Diablo Dam, the lake is located between Ross Lake and Gorge Lake on the Skagit River at an elevation of 1,201 feet (366 m) above sea level. The unique, intense turquoise hue of the lake's water is attributed to the surrounding glaciers that grind rocks into a fine powder that is carried into the lake through creeks. Also, Noisy construction right next to building started every morning about 5am. There are only four elevators to service about 15 to 18 floor floors of rooms. Needless to say you often find yourself waiting for 5-10 minutes just to get up or down the elevator."
