Created by Diablo Dam, the lake is located between Ross Lake and Gorge Lake on the Skagit River at an elevation of 1,201 feet (366 m) above sea level. The unique, intense turquoise hue of the lake's water is attributed to the surrounding glaciers that grind rocks into a fine powder that is carried into the lake through creeks. For what you get the price is very reasonable. We received free parking which I don’t know if it’s normal but most hotels charge you $30-$80 per day to park. We were given a room on the 24th floor, which had a beautiful view of a large portion of San Francisco. The only downside is if you’re a light sleeper and your room is on the Van Ness side of the hotel there’s quite a bit of street noise. Even if you’re on the 24th floor, which is very near the top of the hotel. Overall the price of the room with free parking, including a breakfast and we ate out with family that morning, is a really good deal for a very solid hotel in a city full of expensive rooms."
