A very well located hotel, near Metro line 5. Bus stop just few yards away from the Flybussen service that secures a ride to the airport. The hotel is vey good, great and friendly staff. Strongly recommend it. Cherry on the cake: breakfast is served in the building adjacent to the hotel and it is nothing less that the Ulleval Football Stadium. Great venue!

At first I thought the hallways were a bit used but for a stadium that does make sense. The amount of precautions for reducing power usage are amazing! The tv channels could be a little more varied but otherwise the room itself is very nice! Best part of all is the breakfast service. Incredible food really helped me start the day well!

Experience with Thon Hotel Ullevaal Stadion
The hotel is very clean and it is comfortable with all the basics. The breakfast location and the quality of breakfast spread is impressive. Service is outstanding and the front desk is always helpful in offering support for any query or practical needs. I had a rescheduling to be done for my Air France Flight from Oslo to Paris following the cancellation of the original flight by Air France and new scheduling. The front desk of the hotel was all help to ensure that I could establish contact with Air France to change the schedule to my need.

Not bad hotel if you are not expecting too much
Convenient for the train to Oslo. The attached Egon restaurant food is ok but beware if they get busy forget about eating or drinking there we had to resort to getting a sandwich from the local coop shop. They only have 1 guy taking orders for both food and drinks at the bar not the most efficient way of working

Second stay in Thon Hotel Ullevaal Stadion
The hotel is very conveniently located for public transport into the city centre (3 minute walk to the nearest metro station). The hotel was well presented and the staff always upbeat and cheerful and only too pleased to have a conversation with you. The breakfasts were superb - a wonderfully diverse and flavoursome buffet that was well above your typical buffet breakfast quality. The breakfasting area is actually the hospitality area for the National football stadium, so it was quite interesting as you got a view of the inside of the stadium. On this occasion they were constructing an ice skating rink and I found it interesting to watch the process over the 2 days I stayed there, The immediate area surrounding the hotel is quite business orientated and there was a lot of construction work taking place, but this did not impact on my stay in any way. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything that I needed, including decent wifi. This was the second time I have stayed at this hotel and I will stay here again on my next business trip to Oslo.

Good value for money.
Our room was fine, & bed was comfortable. Didn't find wifi very good though. It is a long way from anywhere, but train service excellent, & it's only a few stops to Oslo Central.

Very nice hotel, but far from Oslo downtown
Modern, nice and clean hotel Young, very friendly and efficient personell. Buffet breakfast with everything you can think of. The only minus is that its far away from Oslo downtown.

On train tracks so loud
We had to close the windows so the room was stuffy and hot as there is no air. I complained 3 times and the last night i was given a fan that helped tremendously. Breakfast was outstanding though!

Someone was pressure washing the stadium sidewalk until 12 pm, midnight. Not the hotel's fault, but it was very noisy.

A little unusual but nice.
The hotel itself was pretty decent. Nice spread for breakfast. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. It only took a couple minutes to walk from the hotel to the Metro/Tram stop. My only complaint and it's more of an observation is that the shops closed early and weren't open on Sunday.

used for work - wouldn't rush back
I found that the hotel was poorly sign posted when I drove to the stadium where the hotel was based. There were no signs in the car park to where to park the car, you have to go underground where there are red sign post pointing to the hotel. (the parking is chargeable 200nk per night). The room is basic but comfortable. You need to check your door when you leave the room as I found that it didn't automatically lock behind me and I needed to put your card to the lock (keyless) for it to lock (listen for the clickt). the breakfast is not the best I've had in Norway but is fine. the restaraunt attached to the hotel is an Egon or there is a Burger King around the corner of the shoppiung area. When I returned to the hotel that night I found that though my bed had been made the coffee compliment hadn't been replaced (used both sachets before leaving for the day).If I wanted a coffee then I had to go back to the foyer where they have a complimentry coffee machine. Also they only provided flavoured tea in the room. I also had problems with the wifi - but then there was a sign in the reception to say they were working on the wifi and that there may be a problem .

Thon Hotel in Oslo is a good value
The breakfast was great. My kids loved (loved) the breakfast, especially the fresh juice and variety options. The rooms were a little small and we did not get adjoining rooms as requested but we enjoyed our stay. Getting on the tram to central Oslo was easy enough once you got on the right one. We would go back.

The staff was pleasant but I had a light in the ceiling above my desk that blinked on and off every 10 or seconds or so. It was a bright light and the blinking was so annoying that I was unable to sit at my desk to answer emails on my laptop. I reported this to the desk and they said the janitor would take a look at it the next day. The next day it wasn't fixed so I reported it again. The receptionist replaced the bulb in my desk lamp which also wasn't working and I could then at least sit at the desk with enough light after turning off the room lights to stop the blinking. I stayed there a total of 5 nights and the blinking light was never fixed. The staff I dealt with was pleasant and spoke very good English, but their janitorial staff clearly has issues.
