Neat house, great water view and short drive to town!
A unique house! We loved the antique pin ball machine! Home was clean and well stocked. The pool looked inviting but too cold for us to use. We did enjoy sunset on the dock. Oriental was a precious town and just a few minutes drive from the home. Property manager was great to communicate with and responded quickly to a minor issue. We loved the tote bag! We enjoyed our stay!

Fun trip

Great place!
Our family had a great time at this house. The house has everything you need, the view was amazing from the patio. We all enjoyed the pool, the dock and the neighborhood. Overall it’s a nice, relaxing place to visit.

Gorgeous Pool!
We were three women staying here for a long weekend and the house was perfect for us. The kitchen was fully equipped, there are three bedrooms, and the pool with a view of the water as the sun set could not be beat! Absolutely gorgeous. The layout of the bedrooms is slightly odd though and something to be aware of if traveling with more people. The master bath does not have doors within the master bedroom, just a curtain. And the second floor bedroom doesn’t have great air conditioning and has a tiny cramped bathroom. We also found the checkout procedures to be daunting, with many different steps detailed that were complicated to follow. For example, the exact location to put dirty towels (in the bathtub?)Overall, an excellent stay and we would definitely come back!

The view is beautiful and the pool is nice although we didn’t anticipate most of it being 9 ft deep. The internet is very bad though, which made watching anything on tv very frustrating.

Fun house with lots to do outside
Despite some weather we really enjoyed our outside time by the water observing birds, ducks, jelly-fish, lizards, and more! House was unique, comfortable, and kids loved it.

A Cozy Cottage
This property is a very nice place. It is beautiful with a really great layout. The view of the water is spectacular and it is equipped with everything you need while on vacation. Everyone of the family members loved it and we would love to visit again, next time in the spring or summer time. We enjoyed every bit of our stay in this property and the owners and property managers made it very easy and enjoyable! An experience I otherwise couldn’t afford.
It was all good. My grandkids fished, and enjoyed the property. It’s time for a new barbecue (squeezing in another visit would be greedy). Also, I didn’t mind tending the pool, but if your paying someone to tend it, he did not show. The pump motor was easily taxed (pine needles). No worries, I was on top of it.

Quiet Retreat on the Backwaters
My wife and stayed for 5 days during Hurricane Ian. The location was ideal for a quiet get-away but was also but also within easy driving distance to New Bern, Morehead City, Atlantic Beach, and Beaufort. The extreme winds did knock down quite a bit of tree debris, but with a little skimming of the pool and some follow on sunshine we were able to enjoy the some swimming while overlooking the water. We identified numerous birds and enjoyed watching dolphins play just off the shore. The spacious house was more than enough for the two of us and included everything we were looking for. For nearby dining we found a few nice places in Oriental just a couple minutes drive from the property.

Absolutely stunning!
The house is amazing! This is the first time the pictures did not do the property justice. It was so much better than I expected. My kids loved the pool, and the lights made night swimming perfect! We loved the fishing, and even tried to catch some crab! (No luck though) Dolphins swam past most mornings, which the kids loved too. Such a great place, we will ABSOLUTELY stay here again!

Nice view. Blind on the door in bedroom was broke. Pool needs up dating. No TV in the master bedroom
The pool needed cleaning but the pool guy showed up the next morning to clean it. The view is outstanding. The upstairs is not very cool. Other than that it's a nice place. Found small poop on the deck. My husband said it was probably a racoon.

4th of July weekend
We really enjoyed our stay at this property for the 4th of July weekend. The pool was great and it was nice to put our boat in just around the corner and keep it at the private dock. Great place to stay for a low-key weekend. We will definitely be back!

Great house. Amazing property.
I will say the house is a bit quirky, and the privacy of the bathrooms aren’t ideal, but we really enjoyed our stay. The house has tons of room and the beds are comfortable. The property can’t be beat, and the neighborhood was very peaceful.

Overall a pleasant experience
The house itself was fantastic, plenty of room, good layout, and wonderful location. There were some initial communication challenges - most of the information left at the house about trash pick up, pool cleaning, etc was incorrect - but was resolved quickly after calling the property manager. We also had some issues with the dock, there are two sailboats there, taking up both slips, that appear to have been there for a very long time, it would have been nice to know they were there before hand. Finally some of the neighbors let their dogs roam free, and we had to contend with them barking at us in the yard

Great property with excellent water views. The pool was an added bonus. Very quiet neighborhood and 5 min from the town of Oriental. Master suite could use some updating but it was very comfortable.

Fantastic vacation !
The house has magnificent views from every room. The nearby silos restaurant has some of the best pizza we have ever had - and the Piggly Wiggly was well stocked. The ferry to Beaufort is just 30 minutes away and makes for a great day trip.

Family Sailing Retreat
This property has the promise of a perfect family vacation. Lots of room to spread out. Spacious open area with lots of seating, plus the screened porch with a table and plenty of seating, add a pool with lounge chairs, as well as outdoor seating by the fire pit by the creek. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed, so it was easy to prpare meals. Easy access for launching kayaks and SUPs. Close to Oriental - just across the bridge - and close to Bow and Stern for sailboat rental.

My family came for a much needed get away. Once we arrived we barely left. The large screened porch, swimming pool, river and home were the relaxing setting we so needed. We brought our hammocks and kayak, that were used everyday. You can beat waking up with a cup of coffee by the river. We will definitely be back!

This was a perfect visit. The house was well-equipped with everything we needed and was clean throughout. The pool was perfect for the hot days and being right on the water was ideal. It is summer on the water so be ready for some bugs--but that is just nature! Would definitely want to come back!

serene & beautiful waterfront holiday
If the weather is good, you can't beat sitting at the fire pit looking at the river. It's a quiet area with unobstructed water views from inside & outside the house. The pool/pool area was not very clean, but with sunny weather it almost didn't matter. The views from inside the house were lovely, but the house itself should have been cleaner (sinks, counters, floors in the corners, dead bugs in the light fixtures). All in all, could be 5 stars with a better cleaning crew.

Beautiful location but...
Cleanliness was better than last time we stay August 2019. But refrigerator ice maker did not work, there was a shortage of baking dishes(for the microwave) , paint inside and out needs updating, and the tv was difficult to decipher. The weather was not good but we can’t blame that on the place. Hope this gives the owner incentive to update the place .

Great location and space but needs some work.
This is a lovely house with a beautiful water view. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. We enjoyed the firepit and watching the pelicans fly along the river. The main room and the porch were delightful. On the negative side, the house was not completely clean when we arrived. Many of the dishes were dirty (we think that the dishwasher needs servicing), there were black head hairs on all the tile floors (from the cleaners?), and there were numerous dead cockroaches around. Additionally, not everything worked. The main suite tub's faucet did not work and the TV only accessed one channel.

Beautiful Getaway!
We had the best time this weekend at the Dragons Island cottage. Kyle, the property manager was very friendly and informative when we asked things about the home and community. The home was a perfect get away to celebrate our children’s birthdays. Will definitely stay here again!

Nice location, Dated and in need of updating
I am very sure that this house was absolutely stunning, when it was build in the 1970's. There's been little or no updating since it's build date. It has this huge stereo, which doesn't have an antenna, nor speakers around the house. We experienced a LOT in need of repair. They have an open pool until November, without a heater. Water was in the 50's, Unbearable to pretty much anyone. The "private" dock is not private. It is shared with another house, which ALSO advertises it as private. This is rather troublesome as this house is pretty much completely windows facing the water, and the other house is rented with fisherman who get on the dock at 630 every morning and don't leave until dinner. Little true privacy in the backyard. If you are a fisherman looking for a waterfront crashpad for a few guys fishing, this is fine. If you are looking for a luxurious vacation spot, this is NOT it. Needs a lot in terms of maintenance and upkeep.

We do work hard to make things right for our guests as we did make two trips out to the home while you were there- one to fix a sliding screen door and one to assist with making sure that the gas grill was working properly for you during your stay. We have discussed the option of adding a pool heater with the owner since they like to keep the pool open for longer than most in the area. The dock is shared with one other home and we apologize for any confusion that was caused. We have since adjusted our descriptions to reflect your concern. The home has beautiful views of the river and the back yard is open so that guests can enjoy a fire at the fire pit or to relax at the pool. Again, we appreciate your feedback and are always working towards making our homes and cottages the best that they can be.

Great Outdoor Space
Came with my husband, daughter and son in law for some family together time and kayak fishing for the guys. We all had a great time! Beautiful outdoor area and view. We especially loved the Adirondack chairs, the screened porch dining area, and the dock. Kyle gave us great recommendations in his introduction to Oriental on our phone call before we came. We had great communication with him and he is very knowledgeable. We all agree that M & M’s was by far the best food we had- order early because the kitchen gets busy and won’t take take out orders until it slows down. Even though it was quite a drive for us, I’m sure we will be back. We loved it here!!

We love the location on the creek. The house has an unusual layout but it was comfortable. It is in dire need of updating with some paint. Unfortunately, we would have enjoyed our stay more if the weather had cooperated and the pool was clean. Loved watching the otter, birds, and the neighborhood was great!

Great Vacation in Oriental!
This home was perfect for our mini-vacation in Oriental. We loved the pool, fishing from the bank, smores by the fire pit and having the dock for easy boat access. The upstairs loft is perfect for kids. They loved having their own little space. The screened-in porch was wonderful for sunset dinners. The home needs a little updating but you don't go to Orenital to hangout in a house so we did not mind.
