![This was my favorite art installation on Ogijima, an island in the Seto Inland Sea. It was part of the art festival held every three years, Setouchi Triennale in 2013.

The gallery Memory Bottle was installed by Mayumi Kuri. Almost 1,000 bottles are on display, all with pictures or small trinkets inside. In her interview she says that she wanted to gather memories of the local people in Ogijima so she set up a collection box, asking people to put their memories in it. The bottles were lit up with lights and had everything from pictures to train tickets.

The gallery is still open even though the next Setouchi Triennale is not until 2016. If you want to see the art during the islands off season, now is the time to go :)

* 40min ferry ride from Takamatsu Port. It is about a 1.5hr flight from Tokyo to Takamatsu.

Si le parking de l'hôtel est complet, ll est possoble de trouver facilement d'autres options aux alentours. Contrairement aux hôtels en ville, la chambre etait spacieuse. Les chambres sont aussi modernes. Malgré la barrière de la langue, l'équipe est tres accueillante. Le petit-déjeuner est de type japonais, ce qui ne nous a pas dérangé et a permis de bien démarrer la journée. »

« Très belle chambre avec vue sur la mer. Accès au spa japonais très bien. Petit déjeuner extra. Se trouve juste de l’autre côté de la rue pour la gare, et à 50m de l’embarquement des ferries pour Naoshima. Mais le personnel parle très mal l’anglais et le fait dans un style japonais qui interdit de dire non à un client: attention comment vous posez vos questions! »

« Excellent accueil de Long, le propriétaire de l'hôtel. Check-in rapide et efficace, mais aussi explications intéressantes sur Uno et Naoshima. La chambre est petite, mais très propre. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et sa présentation très originale. L'hôtel est idéalement situé à 3 minutes à pied de la gare, et tout aussi près du terminal des ferries pour Naoshima. Long a été tres attentif à notre bien-être pendant notre court séjour. Merci à lui ! Un onsen particulièrement agréable se...
