Balthasar Ress Guesthouse am Rebhang im Rheingau

The “Balthasar Ress Guesthouse” is the guesthouse of the renowned Balthasar Ress Winery in the Rheingau. Designed primarily for the winery’s own guests, it is also occasionally available to other guests. This architect-designed house is located in the Rebhang neighborhood, one of the most exclusive and beautiful residential areas in the Rheingau wine-growing region. The neighborhood sits at an elevation of about 400 meters, roughly 300 meters above the Rhine, and is surrounded by meadows, vineyards, and the forest.

The house can accommodate up to 6 people. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a courtyard available for guests’ use, complete with outdoor furniture and a grill. The interior design features several exquisite accents—such as a lamp by Ingo Maurer and original artwork by Reinhard Roy.

Children and dogs (for an additional fee) are welcome! Other pets are not allowed out of consideration for guests with allergies.

There is a small playground and expansive fields and meadows in the immediate vicinity. There is no through traffic on the surrounding streets: the tranquility, the fresh air, and the birdsong on the vineyard slope offer pure relaxation!

During their stay, our guests have the entire house at Am Würzgarten 13 at their disposal, including the outdoor area with a grill, fire pit, outdoor dining area with a parasol, and outdoor chairs.

During their stay, our guests have exclusive access to the wineBANK Rheingau in the neighboring town of Hattenheim.

As a guest of the Balthasar Ress Guesthouse, you also have access—via a membership card—to the wineBANK Rheingau across the street—a private members’ club for wine lovers who store their wines there. Why not simply grab a bottle from your suite and head down there in the evening? You’re very likely to meet other interesting people from the region there.

The house is located in the Rheingau, one of the world’s finest regions for growing Riesling. Numerous wineries, wine-tasting stands, wine taverns, and restaurants are just a few minutes’ walk from the house.

The vineyard itself can only be reached from outside the area by car or by bus (which runs only a few times a day). The surrounding area is a particularly popular destination for pedestrians, hikers, and cyclists! If arriving by train, the nearest station is Hattenheim.

The living room features an HD TV with Magenta and Netflix (free).

The laundry room, equipped with a washer and dryer, can be unlocked for an additional fee of €20.

As a welcome gift, you’ll find a bottle of Balthasar Ress “Von Unserm” dry Riesling (the winery’s signature wine) waiting for you in your room—on the house!

All employees at Balthasar Ress (including, of course, the housekeeping staff at the guesthouse) are employed in accordance with legal regulations (they receive at least the minimum wage, are insured, are entitled to paid vacation, etc.).
