Clean and comfortable!

I just finished a stay at the Hotel Otrada in Odessa, Ukraine. This is May/June 2021. I chose the hotel because it was near the beach and most reviews were 5-star. I like boutique hotels like this one. I was very satisfied. I thought no hotel could approach the level of service of my favorite hotel, the Swiss Hotel in Lviv, Ukraine. But I have to say that the Otrada can be mentioned in the same positive light. All of the staff were courteous. I would like to make special mention of Olga at the front desk. From check-in to check-out, she did everything to make sure that my stay was wonderful. The hotel is clean, the breakfast is great, the Internet was fast and reliable. It’s a short walk to the beach, though they offer electric buggy service. They will give you beach towels. The beach has a restaurant, pubs, takeaway snacks, bike rentals, etc. There is a great hiking/biking trail just down the hill from the hotel. The hotel is a little away from the center, but I wanted to be near the beach. If you like walking, the center is walkable. Otherwise, it’s an easy Uber or cab ride. There is also a good market for food, spices and the like at the train station, also a short walk. If the goal is just to hit bars in the center, then maybe you want something there. But if you’d like to be near the beach, get some exercise or be away from the noise in the center, then I highly recommend it. I didn’t want to leave and look forward to visiting again.

Elegant resort near Black Sea
Nice property with pool, well located with golf cart shuttle to Black Sea. Also proximate to centre, about 3 km, and Arkadia about 4 km (though best to avoid latter if over 25 years of age). The front desk staff and cleaners were very kind and accommodating, spoke excellent English, and I was grateful for late checkout. Breakfast buffet lacked variety and was understaffed.

Hotel was good, staff was very friendly and polite. It was close to beach just 10 minutes walk, so happy with the location. Breakfast was delicious, food was not overpriced, I would have like the tea and coffee machine in the room. They only have that in the restaurant. Rooms were with smart TV, I can stream movies and video from my mobile. So which language containt do you want to see it doesn't matter. Overall it is very good hotel

Very nice hotel with a small exception
We had a great experience at hotel Otrada overall. Very nice room and nice facilities close to the beach. Only problem was that we had one of their golf carts take us to the beach. It started raining and we called them to come pick us up. They never showed up. When we called they said the driver had left for the day and wasn't coming to get us. So we had to walk back to the hotel uphill and in the rain. When we got there we complained to the front desk and they just kind of looked at us and nodded. No apologies or explanations. Now this seems to be a common reaction in Odessa in general. Service can be slow or poor and when you complain about it there's never any explanation or apology. To someone from the USA this comes across as very poor customer service and would never be tolerated in the states. But I understand this is a different country so maybe this is just the way it is. I think this area can be improved but it needs to come from the top down.

My trip to Odessa was made extra extraordinary by my stay. The staff, the room, the restaurant were great. The bad part is I didn't want to leave and experience other aspects of the city. Such a problem!

Close to Beach
It is super clean and well maintained. In nice upscale part of city. The European Union offices are next building. 5 to 10 minute walk to beach. I had breakfast and coffee at a couple of different restaurants along beach and watched people and waves. It is removed from city center but there are shops nearby.

The hotel is very well thought out. Great service.
We stayed there for one night with my parents. The hotel is in a neat and quiet location, some staff members are extremely caring and forward-thinking. I also like their policy as to no overnight guests.

The rooms simply are not large enough for a five star hotel. I loved the additional services that are available. The rates are very fair while it seems like the rest of Odessa is out for the foreigners money.

Stayed 11 nights on short notice in high season and had no better choice than a Jr Suite at Ottada for $200/n. If only the room had been a Jr Suite or anything other than the closet we recieved. Worse the mattress was one of those impermeable foam s that although comfortable caused sweat and damp sheets. Decent food, but weak drinks, awful Disco or covers for music at small pool area. beach is close by but it is depressing. Having seen better days like most of this once beautiful city.

Hotel Otrada -- clean and friendly
Hotel Otrada is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. It is clean and the restaurant is good by European standards. The best thing was the bed which was very comfortable, and that's 80% of what counts for us. The room was average in size, the TV was good with a couple of English speaking channels including a movie channel, and it was quiet and we felt very safe. The neighborhood is dimly lit and not someplace you would want to go walking around in, but if you're taking cabs as we did, everything is fine. We would stay there again. No, it's not an elegant hotel like Trump's in Miami, but for a hotel with about 30 rooms in Odessa, it deserves its 5 star rating.

A wonderful Hotel
I arrived in Odessa tired after 14 hours travelling. The hotel was very comfortable without being ostentatious. The staff were very helpful without being intrusive on privacy and personal space.
