Everything was great until the night shift clerk rang my room at 10:30 pm and told me that his co-worker screwed up and did not check me in properly. When I asked him to explain, he said everything was fine except my credit card wasn’t run correctly and if I could come down and let him rerun it. I asked him if he knew what time it was. He said yes. I told him people were sleeping, he didn’t seem to know what to do with that even after I said this could wait till the morning. I did come down and speak with the young man, I explained to him the reason we have a hotel is so my son and I could get up in the morning at 4:30-5 to get on a fishing charter vs. waking up at 2 am and driving from Seattle. The phone was next to an 8 yr olds ear, scared the crap out of him. The clerk states that he was sorry. I was not happy, he was made fully aware of that, but I gave him my cc info. I also told him that I expected better from a hotel that charges $350/night. He asked me if he could comp anything. I said no, but what I wanted to say is “you’re in a concierge service industry, you don’t ask, you just do!” This was completely unacceptable. It took my son until after midnight to get him back to sleep and he clearly did not get enough sleep for the trip we had today. Not to make too fine a point of it, but that kinda ruined the whole trip. $1000 fishing charter, plus tip, and room cost……how are you gonna comp that?
