Great location, clean room, basic comfort
The location is absolutely fantastic, right at the old town, 5 minutes walk from the main train station. Entrance to the hotel is easy to find, clearly marked next to the restaurant. The check-in was simple and straight-forward. The room was clean and modern, and provides basic comfort. However, I do feel that it could be more comfortable: * For starters, a closet, or at least a dresser, is rather a must for a stay longer than 1 night (the room only had a small coat hunger next to the door, with no additional storage space). * Another chair or couch would have been appreciated, especially for a double-room (there was only 1 chair, at the small desk). * There was no option to control the AC, beyond opening the window (and the internal courtyard was rather noisy, until quite late at night). * An in-room safe and a coffee maker would be nice to have, and improve significantly the comfort of the stay.

The location was excellent but the room was terribly hot and made it difficult to get restful sleep. To make matters worse, a false alarm fire alarms woke us up at 2:15am and took about 20 mins to get sorted out before we could go back to our rooms. Then, the fire alarm went off again at about 2:57am and we went through about a 15-20 min wait before returning again. Totally ruined our sleep and negatively impacted the rest of that day. To make matters worse, it seemed the desk manager didn't want to face customers and only came out after we waited about 15 mins. He didn't ask how our stay was nor did he even bring up or apologize for the sleep disruptions. Absolutely cannot recommend this hotel.

We were supposed to stay at Hotel Bruderhertz 2 weeks ago, however when we arrived just after 5:00 pm to check-in the hotel was locked with no one in sight. We tried calling the after hours line with no answer or call back, and I tried emailing the hotel at the same time. We didn’t receive any communication beforehand with check-in instructions, and online it said the front desk would be open until 6:00 pm on Sundays. The only email we received was regarding parking, and nothing in relation to check-in steps, so we assumed we would show up and check-in like any other hotel. Moral of the story was we weren’t able to stay there, in the room we had already paid for, and had to pay for another hotel. We are still waiting to hear back from the hotel regarding a refund. We haven’t heard anything at all regarding this issue and this was now 2 weeks ago. I highly recommend not staying at this hotel, and at least no prepaying for the room. We are very disappointed with the lack of service and communication we’ve received. This issue could have been resolved with a simple apology, explanation, and prompt refund.

A Mixed Bag
This hotel is conveniently located near the train station in the old city in a charming old building, and the public areas and restaurant have been nicely restored. The rooms, however, were newly built in in the style of a low cost, minimalist modern hotel. Ours contained only a bed, built in desk, bookshelf, and uncomfortable desk chair, even thought there would have been ample room for an easy chair or small sofa, and closet (Schrank). There were only a few dim lights, making reading at night almost impossible. Booming bass from the next door night club interfered with our sleep. The English-speaking staff was cordial and helpful and the service good.

Very new rooms! Stayed in the mixed 14 person suite and I didn't have any issues. Only thing I didn't like was the lockers were in the sleeping area, so since I woke up earlier than everyone I took all my stuff into the bathroom to try and not wake them up!

It was a very nice hotel and the location was great. But when we got to our room, the window was open. We closed it since the room was air conditioned. It did not come on. The room remained very hot. We were told we couldn’t adjust the thermostat. We got no sleep the first night because we had the window open and it was very loud. We complained the next day and we were told the same thing, although we had not heard or felt any air conditioning. The second night we had to close the window making the room very hot. We never would have booked this hotel knowing we could not adjust the air conditioning. It never ran the entire time we were there. Very frustrating and we received no help.

Dear Joan, thank you for your review. We are very sorry that your stay at our hotel has not completely satisfied you. As we told you, there is air conditioning in the hotel, but it is not possible to control that in every room, it is centrally regulated for the whole hotel. I have to point out also that Thursday and Friday were not hot, the avarege temperatura was between 16-17 degrees and was not necessary to use the airconditioning. Brudherz is a gem of a hotel, amazingly clean and close to everything in the city.The hotel is also on top of their restaurant, which serves very good breakfast.

Francesco was so nice and explained everything about the check in (I was only spending a night because a layover and was gonna be there late when no staff was there). The room was big, the bathroom inside the room was beautiful and big too. Beds comfortable and hostel was nice and good location.

Great hotel in a very nice building in an upcoming neighborhood, 5min walk from the train station and next to the Neues Museum Nürnberg. The inhouse brewery and breakfast is great. Only drawback were the uncomfortable (way too big) pillows and the (albeit faint) noise from the club in the same building block.

Great Find in Nuremberg
Lovely place with a convenient restaurant on the ground floor. Everything was clean, modern and in good taste though we would have preferred a closet so things can be kept tidy. Katharina was especially helpful with checking us in early and making us feel comfortable. Will definitely return.

Amazing find! The hotel was really clean and the staff were friendly. We were able to check in two hours early at no extra cost. The room was huge and spotless. Really comfy beds and lovely duvets. There is a bar/restaurant on site and although we didn’t visit looked really good. The hotel is right near the main train station which made it perfect for getting the Ubahn to the airport in the morning. Not far from the shops/main square.

Finest European hostel I had stayed
Opened only recently, Bruderherz is one of the two finest hostels I have ever stayed! The shared dorms are unlike the basic bunk bedrooms but are instead finely crafted wooden capsuled beds in which guests have their own little private spaces. Each space has its own light, outlet, and even shelf to put your smaller belongings. The shared shower spaces are also one of the finest I have seen with all the amenities you need. The entire premise is clean and top notch, and I hope all these stay as the hostel continues to run. Sadly my stay was marred by two drunkards who wouldn't stop slamming the doors, but I would nonetheless rank this as the finest European hostel I had stayed.

Excellent stay
Has to be the most comfortable hostel that I have ever stayed in. The room was brand new and comfortable, with a modern design. The bathroom was large with two toilets and three showers in the dorm for 14. There were a couple of minor teething problems, such as the electronic door key not working and no shower curtains, but overall it was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a bit strange to receive a card receipt on arrival despite paying through hotels.com but I don't appear to have been charged twice. It wasn't the cheapest place (particularly for a hostel) to stay but I would definitely return.

Das Hotel hat eine perfekte Lage. Das Zimmer war allerdings nicht wirklich gereinigt worden... am Fußboden extrem viele Fuzzel, im Badezimmer überall Wasserflecken, in der Dusche sogar noch der Müll vom Vorgänger... im Bett sehr viele Haare, bin mir nicht ganz sicher ob die Bettwäsche überhaupt frisch war.... Beim Frühstück nur ein Personal, somit musste auf alles gewartet werden... und eine halbe Stunde nach Frühstücks Beginn war dann das Gebäck auch schon aus....
