A dirt road climbs, starting with a pristine golden sand beach, inland and leads up to a gate. Behind this lurks Casa Pizzuta among the olive trees of a large estate that borders in the distance with the excavations of Eloro, a Greek city dating from the fifth century BC which it was destroyed during the conquest of Sicily by the Arabs. Casa Pizzuta offers the wonderful combination of beautiful natural environment, rural and marine together. At 600 meters from the house in fact, it is located one of the most beautiful beaches of Sicily, with its golden sand surrounded by fragrant hedges of rosemary, thyme, myrtle, boxwood and mastic trees, typical of the Mediterranean, and interspersed with white sandstone cliffs They immerse themselves in an incredible turquoise sea. To the south of this beach there is the coastal reserve of Vendicari that extends for 10 km until San Lorenzo, near the village of Marzamemi. Just north of the beach there is the small seaside resort of Lido di Noto, this has a promenade with cafes, ice cream shops and a beautiful beach. At 6 km is the baroque town of Noto, heritage of ‘UNESCO. Casa Pizzuta has a large garden with lots of almond trees. The house has a large covered terrace and consists of a double bedroom, two nice bathrooms with bidet, shower and toilet and a living room with a basic kitchen, a dining table and a sofa bed. The living room leads to a covered terrace. Further out in the garden there is another terrace with deck chairs and a beautiful view of the coast. The kitchen could do with a few simple additions e.g. more cutlery, pans, coffee potetc. The immediate surroundings constitute Riccardo’s exciting project to develop the site. Accueil déplorable, arrivée prévue à 17 h30 mais propriétaire disponible qu’à partir 19 h45 ce qui nous a contraint de faire demi tour…incompréhension avec le propriétaire concernant les frais à régler en sus ( il nous demandait 158 euros au leu de 86 euros ce qui ne correspondait pas à l annonce mais ce dernier n’a pas insisté… 2 pièces dont 1 chambre climatisée, équipement de cuisine rudimentaire, eau non potable et salée, impossibilité d utiliser le lave vaisselle car situé à 100 m du gîte !!! Avec le lave linge ( dans un abris de jardin commun à tous les gîtes) pas de barbecue ( contrairement à l’annonce) cameras sur tous le parc y compris donnant sur terrasse privative! Et sms du propriétaire en semaine nous indiquant d éteindre la climatisation en notre absconse mais à notre retour, la Clim était bien éteinte, est-ce un oubli de notre part ? Est il rentré pour l éteindre ?Parc non entretenu voire dépotoir et un espace jacuzzi et salon de jardin hors service, présence de renards tous les soirs a l heure du dîner : prévoir des bâtons ! Et départ rocambolesque nous obligeant à ramener le zappeur du portail situé à plus de 2 kms du gîte, le propriétaire n’étant toujours pas disponible…points positifs bonne literie et endroit calme proche de la mer et des sites touristiques… ##### VERONIQUE G. Das riesige Areal ist sehr naturbelassen, allerdings findet sich hier auch einiges, was längst der Müllentsorgung hätte zugänglich gemacht werden müssen. Die Zufahrtsstraße innerhalb des Grundstücks ist sehr vom Wasser ausgewaschen und nur mit größter Vorsicht zu befahren. Dennoch ist es ein einmaliges Objekt, fußläufig zum Strand und ca 10 km entfernt von der Barockstadt Noto! Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. ##### Ansgar B. The house is simple but got everything you need, even for a longer stay. Within a 20 minutes walk you can reach some of the most beautiful beaches of Sicily. If you love nature and rustic charm, this is a great place to stay any time of the year. We have travelled throughout Sicily and have not found a location to beat this. With the amazing Pizzuta beach just a five minute walk away, coastal walks on the doorstep and the golden hued stone of the nearby baroque town of Noto, staying at Riccardo's place is just perfect.
