It most probably is a very nice hotel except for Room 6! When we arrived (17.30) there was a noisy extractor fan below which made the windows rattle constantly. I asked for another room but was told that the fan would be turned off and would be okay then. When we came back after dinner and had drinks in the bar we returned to the room and it was till rattling. On complaining again (22.00) we were then offered another room, but this was much too late to repack etc. eventually they shouted to the kitchen to turn off the fan which they did and the rattling stopped. We were given a £35 refund to the expeida account but that was not the point, the stay was really ruined by then. I have to say that the breakfast was excellent though!

The staff were very welcoming. It's super dog friendly. Breakfast was good and our dog enjoyed his sausage. The dinner menu was good and food was nice.

There was an issue with our room and the hotel contacted us before arrival to ask if it was okay to change our rooms, we got a better room than originally booked and it was great that they were proactive and contacted us rather than hope we wouldn't notice, all the staff were friendly and polite and the food was great, definitely stay there again and would recommend others stay there

Accommodation at The Lawns was spacious and we couldn’t fault it and it made up for the 2min walk to the hotel for breakfast, which was excellent. Staff and service also very good.

We booked to stay in the Lawn rooms, just a short walk from the Father's pub and main building. The room was in a very pretty cabin, very spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't hany any heating or hot water at all for our first night, so the staff kindly moved us to another room, this time in the main pub building. Room was large and comfortable although not as pretty as the Lawn room we were first in, road noise was also quite loud. Personally, if you are happy to walk 2 mins, I would reccomend you stay in the lawn rooms. Much prettier, lighter and quieter. Staff were very helpful and friendly, evening meal in the pub was good. Breakfast was OK. Good quality cooked breakfast but not much of continental option, only toast and cereal. No pastries offered. Coffee was very good. All in all a great location to stay in. Holt is very pretty and has lots of cafes and shops, but keep in ming not much is open on a Sunday. A great base to explore other nearby towns.

Great stay in Holt
Stayed in ‘The Lawns’ building. Checked in at the Feather’s and nice warm welcome. Great building. Offered fresh milk to take to our room. Had dinner in ‘The Feather’s’. Top service from Peter. Had breakfast there too. We’ll be back again for sure. 10/10!

Weekend in Holt
Our room in the Lawns was good and worked well for a night out in Holt. All if the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great as well.

Excellent dog friendly hotel
Very enjoyable stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely room. Very clean. We took our two dogs with us and was chuffed with the beautiful two dog beds, bowls and treats they had set up for them. Would definitely recommend as a very dog friendly hotel.

A fabulous base for Christmas shopping around Holt. The beautiful building is full of historical character, and the staff couldn't do enough to help. Although the vibe was rural shabby chic, details like mould on the bathroom ceiling, a leaky shower door, and flaking paint in the conservatory suggest that the same level of attention to detail given to staff training, and food quality, is not given to repairs and maintenance. Good, but not great.

This was an outstanding place to visit, friendly helpful staff from the start and throughout our stay. Comfortable warm room, really comfy bed and pillows. Food in the Restaurant was so delicious and the breakfasts were really well prepared. The car park was a little tight and fills up quite quickly but you can park on the road outside for a period of time. We would definitely love to return.

Great friendly staff, food very good. large room, was a bit cold at first but turned up the rads and it was lovely and comfortable all the facilities we required. Had a good nights sleep, although the room looked out onto the high street no problem at all with noise. Will definitely return.

Well worth a visit.
We had 3 nights at the Feathers and will certainly return to the hotel if we visit Holt at a future date. Staff were excellent, hard working and very welcoming. Food is of a very high standard. Strongly recommend a stay or if you are a day visitor definitely call in for a meal.

Comfortable stay in a delightful Norfolk town.
We stayed in The Lawns an annex of the hotel just down the road. comfortable rooms obviously recently refurbished. Meals including breakfast were served in The Feathers. The disadvantage was that after the room was serviced on the 2nd day, no milk was left , so we had to walk the 00 yard round trip to the main hotel for supplies. All the meals were very good but the wine was over-priced for the quality on offer. The hotel is dog friendly, but the hotel really should not allow their owners to feed their dogs scraps from the dining table. One dog in particular was constantly yapping for more scraps.

Hi hotel is in a lovely location, however the hotel is really dated. We had a lovely big bedroom but was in need to upgrading however the bathroom was lovely. Dinner in the evening was lovely and well organised however breakfast was extremely poor. The car park is also really tight and we struggled to park.

Disappointing
Disappointing stay in four star hotel, not as good as three stars I have stayed in in Norfolk. No hot water, so had cold shower this morning! When I complained, receptionist said the last person who stayed in the room must have turned the hot water switch off! We found this eventually but too late for our showers. Breakfast was a buffet, not very exciting! No croissants or pastries. Hard mushrooms and tomatoes. Sunday roast dinner was swimming in strong dark gravy so I couldn’t taste the vegetables! When I mentioned this, the girl said it was darker and thicker than usual! I liked staying at their annexe The Lawns as it was quiet, but if it was raining it might be a nuisance having to walk to main hotel for breakfast.
