10/10 Excellent
"ROOM was spotless, staff very friendly and courteous. Food was quirky (to a non-native and sub-Saharan Africa first-timer) but no-nonsense interesting if not amazing. TV was hard to navigate, though, and the WIFI was intermittent and weak."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Njumbi?
The best area to stay in Njumbi is near the central market and shopping areas, particularly around the main road that connects Njumbi to neighbouring towns.

This area is the heart of local activity, offering easy access to essential amenities and local businesses. You'll find a selection of shops, local eateries, and services here, making it convenient for daily needs. The main road serves as a primary transport route, ensuring good connectivity.

For solo travellers, staying close to the central market offers convenience and a sense of being connected to the local life. It's easy to find local transport options, and there are always people around during the day, making it practical for exploring independently.

Couples looking for a comfortable base will appreciate the convenience of this central area. It allows for easy access to local attractions such as the Njumbi waterfall and the surrounding hills, which are popular for walks.
When is the best time to go to Njumbi?
The best time to go to Njumbi is during the dry seasons, which run from December to March and July to October.

These periods offer comfortable weather for exploring the area, with less rainfall and generally sunny skies. This makes it ideal for outdoor activities like visiting local coffee farms or enjoying the views of the Aberdare Ranges.

For those interested in agricultural tourism, particularly coffee harvesting, the main picking season typically falls between October and December. This is an excellent time for travellers who want to learn about the coffee-making process firsthand and experience the local culture surrounding this important crop.

Families might find the December to March dry season particularly appealing due to the pleasant weather, which is superb for outdoor excursions and less disruption from rain.
