Ota Ward’s Kamata neighborhood is full of excitement, but when you need a break, Nishikamata Park is here for relaxation. Located near the edge of Kamata’s shopping district, the area is a slice of nature in the busy streets of the neighborhood. Stop here to see cherry blossoms during the blooming season in the spring or come at any time of year to have a picnic, play in the playground or just relax on the benches as locals walk past on their way to and from their errands.
Shop in Kamata’s stores and restaurants. Stop at one of the neighborhood’s famous restaurants for picnic food to bring to the park. Supplied with mochi, fried chicken or whatever the current food trend is, head to Nishikamata Park to enjoy your feast. Perch on the benches or spread out a blanket on the well-maintained grass. Let kids run free to play on the equipment nearby as you lie back on the grass to appreciate the relative serenity. Notice several whimsical bronze sculptures of children in the park.

Find Nishikamata Park on the western edge of the Kamata neighborhood of Ota Ward. Walk from the closest train station in 6 minutes or go a bit farther to the Keikyu-Kamata stop, 18 minutes away, for extremely fast connections to Haneda International Airport. The park is a 12-minute walk from the Nomi River and a 10-minute walk to the central shopping district of Kamata. Reach the park from Chofu International Airport in about 1.5 hours or from Haneda International Airport in about 30 minutes. Street parking is limited, so public transportation is usually the best option, especially during tourist season. The park is freely accessible to the public all day every day.
