"Smashing time. My 11 year-old granddaughter & I (her 72 year-old grandmother) had a perfect 5 days. She loved the roof top pool, I loved the beach but we made it work. We both adored the hotel. We loved to go around the corner to Baytown, a different world. We both loved the food and the kind people."

"We stayed at the hotel for seven nights. The hotel, pools, and common areas were clean. The restaurants offered good food and excellent service. All the staff members were polite and attentive. I was served by a Brazilian woman named Alexandria and her daughter, who do an excellent job in the kitchen. I would also like to thank waitresses Monica and Marcela for their excellent work. Many thanks to everyone for a wonderful stay. Dasilva family 🙏"
The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach

"The beach view was amazing. All the staff was friendly. We listened to a local duo (the velveteens) one night at the beach bar and they were amazing. When we visit the island resort next time I hope they are on the schedule. Price wise, the food and drinks are up there. We had our breakfasts included with our room and we won't do that again. $55 without a tip for 2 people on the buffet is high. Especially when the variety of food isnt there and the taste is just okay, nothing to brag about.. The bar in the main building hasn't had draft beer in at least 3 months. The Compressor is down and parts have been ordered, but no one knows how much longer it will be. The a/c units in our suite worked, but they are somewhat noisy. We froze when they would run and roast when they wouldn't. I'm guessing that's typical for the Florida heat in August. Overall, our 2nd trip to the island resort in 2 years was good. We will eventually stay there again, but not sure when."

"The convenience of a grocery store and restaurant option within the property and multiple within walking distance. Beach shuttle was a great service!! Perfect long weekend trip!! Would highly recommend."

"To start we arrived late at night close to midnight. The young lady and gentleman that were working at front desk were incredibly hospitable, kind and helpful with giving us tips on where to go what to and where to eat. Amazing service and super welcoming. The rooms were clean and although we had no towels upon entering the same young lady that welcomed us in had tbe room packed with towels before we could even get to the car and retrieve our belongings. The only small one complaint we would have would be the breakfast. Options are limited and if you're not there by 7a.m it's nearly empty however it is the typical continental breakfast which is norm at most hotels but an easy solution to that was subs we bought the night prior at Publix for $10 and a salad and took it down to eat in the lobby. All in all an absolutely incredible experience 🙌"
