Comfy family retreat in nature
Our family loved having a comfortable stay in a cute cabin in the bush, away from busy connected life. Lots of outdoor fires, staring at the stars (so clear!), wandering in the bush and just lazing musing the day together. Thanks so much!

Bushland Cabin Overlooking the Hawkesbury River Upstream of Wisemans Ferry
This delighful well appointed cabin, complete with paintings of Australian landscapes, is a perfect spot to spend a few days exploring the local area, including the Wisemans Ferry Inn and the Settlers Arms at St Albans and for us, to kayak along the river. The property has shared private access to the river. The cabin is set on a large bushland property which means you can enjoy the solitude, sky and peace all to yourselves with your four legged friend.

Wonderful property
A wonderful place to stay and relax. With no wifi or phone reception (Vodafone anyway) it was great to unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet away from the city. As advised bring all your own food (staples provided) as there is no local shop to pop into should you require something - being pregnant and craving some ice cream I had to go without.

Unique experience in the Hawkesbury
We very much enjoyed the natural scenery whilst having breakfast and dinner outside. The cabin and beds were comfortable, the two upstairs rooms are quite impressive. Maria was responsive and provides helpful advice for the property. It's not right on the river but that's not a bad thing as you can escape the motorboat noise. One thing to note was the gas bottle for the bbq was left on at the cylinder and this could become a fire hazard.

misleading
The property is in a nice location and does have a lot of bedrooms if that is what you need. Otherwise, it is a tad dated inside The main issues cropped up from the start when google maps sends you somewhere completely different from where the house is located. When I called the owner she said: " oh yeah google maps does that". Well if it does that then why not list accurate directions or try and improve this somehow? Once there, there is no phone signal or wifi at all. This was fine for me as I didn't want to be contactable, however, my wife did have 4h of online work she needed to do which meant that she had to drive the 30min to Wiseman's ferry town to get access. We brought our very old dog along with us which has never slept outside. The place is advertised as pet friendly, but, when you get there in the "welcome book" it says no pets allowed inside. When leaving you are also expected to clean the kitchen and bathrooms. You are charged $$$ in cleaning fees by the owner off the bat and if you don't clean you face a big fine. You are also expected to take the rubbish with you which was great fun in a hot car with a food-driven dog. On top of that it is BYO bed linen and towels. All of these things make you feel like a pain in the arse that is a necessity to make a quick buck or two. It is also a rip off tbh as we could have stayed in a swank hotel for the same amount of money where we did not have to clean up the room and bring our own linen. It's a pity because it puts a dampener on your time away.
