"My grandson and I very much enjoyed our stay at Charles City. Our first morning we got up so late we missed the breakfast. The next morning, we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel has a high standard of cleanliness. Our room was wonderful. The public areas are very well-kept, and the breakfast area looked terrific. It was also great to have staff members acknowledge us. Many of the hotel's associates would converse with us as if we knew one another for years. It was good to feel so at home."

"The barn lodge was a very nice place to stay. Hosts were very kind and even asked us before mowing the lawn behind the barn. We had plenty of room, and much peace & quiet. Made it easy to relax during our stay. The only problem with our stay was the town working on water mains and fire hydrants so the roads in town were all tore up. Made it hard to walk around and explore the town. Nothing the hosts can do about that. We made it work. "
