"Der Biergarten bzw. Frühstücksbereich liegt schön am See und die Matratzen waren gut. Keine Milchglasscheibe o.ä. war davor verbaut. Bis auf eine kleine Schublade unter dem Waschtisch gibt es auch nur offene Regale. Und obwohl dieses Zimmer renoviert wurde, gab es bei diesen Temperaturen nicht mal einen...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Neugarten?
The best area to stay in Neugarten is around the town centre, particularly near Marktplatz (Market Square) and the surrounding streets.

This central area offers a pleasant blend of historic charm and convenience. You'll find many of Neugarten's traditional buildings here, often housing family-run guesthouses and restaurants. The Marktplatz itself is a focal point, often hosting local markets and events, and it's where you'll find the historic town hall. The streets radiating from the square, like Hauptstrasse, are where most of the local shops and eateries are located.

Couples looking for a relaxed and authentic German experience will find this area particularly appealing. It's easy to stroll hand-in-hand through the historic streets, stopping at a traditional bakery for breakfast or enjoying a quiet dinner at a local Gasthof. The proximity to the town's main attractions, like the Neugarten Castle ruins, makes it very convenient for exploring on foot.

Families will also appreciate the central location for its ease of access to local amenities and open spaces. The nearby Schlossgarten (Castle Garden) provides a lovely area for children to play, and being close to the main square means you're never far from a café or ice cream parlour.
When is the best time to go to Neugarten?
The best time to visit Neugarten is during the late spring, from May to June, or in the early autumn, from September to October. These periods offer pleasant weather conditions, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the region.

Late spring brings milder temperatures and blooming landscapes, great for enjoying the natural beauty of the Mecklenburg Lake District. You'll find the days are longer, and the weather is generally sunny, which is great for walks, cycling, and boat trips on the nearby lakes. It's an excellent time for couples looking for a picturesque and calming escape.

Early autumn also provides comfortable temperatures and beautiful scenery as the leaves change colour. This season is often less crowded than the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Neugarten.
How much is the nightly rate at a Neugarten hotel?
