Top Neuensalz Hotel Reviews

Hotel Schloss Schweinsburg

Hotel Schloss Schweinsburg

10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful hotel set in nice grounds. The main building used to be a palace. We were allocated a room in the adjoining building. When we first arrived, we were told that they were full, despite us having booked in advance. But this was soon sorted out. Our room was clean and tidy and spacious. It had a slanted ceiling right above the bed, so we had to be careful getting in and out. The wifi was not very strong in the room but luckily we did not really need it for anything special. The restaurant offered a buffet or the a la carte menu. The buffet looked a bit lacking so we chose the menu and the food was excellent. We can highly recommend the pork schnitzel and the salmon. Parking free and on site. All in all, a lovely place to stay."

The best area to stay in Neuensalz is near the Talsperre Pöhl, particularly around the village of Gansgrün.

This area is centred around the Pöhl dam, a large reservoir popular for recreation. It offers a mix of natural beauty and outdoor activities, with walking and cycling paths encircling the lake. You'll find a few local guesthouses and holiday flats here, many with views of the water or the surrounding forests. The main road through Gansgrün provides access to boat rentals and lakeside cafes.

Families will find this area particularly appealing due to the abundance of outdoor activities. There are designated swimming areas, opportunities for pedal boating, and playgrounds. The quiet surroundings make it a relaxing base for a family holiday, with plenty of space for children to play.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will also appreciate the tranquility of the Talsperre Pöhl area. You can enjoy scenic walks, boat trips, or simply relax by the water.
