The caretakers, Ali and Malika, are super friendly and kind. But we aware, it's a cash only spot (dirham or euro) and...

Kasbah Tizzarouine

Kasbah Tizzarouine

10/10 Excellent
"Amzing porperty overlooking the valley and city below. In a quiet corner away from traffic, yet easy 5 minute walk to shops, restaurants, markets. Staff were so warm and welcoming - nothing was a hassle for them and they made us feel right at home. Dinner and breakfast were buffet style so there was a fair selection of foods to choose from. The room was snug and cosy, only issue was lack of wifi in there but that didn't ruin the stay since it works amazingly in most of the other shared spaces. Loved the library which was a cosy place to sit and chat and just enjoy the beautiful views and the pool was an added bonus to use after a long day in the sun. Mr Ali, Youssef and Mohamad were exceptional. Would highly recommend - it was one of the highlights of my trip."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Nekob?
The best area to stay in Nekob is typically within the central part of the town, close to the main road and the kasbah.

This central area is where you'll find most of the guesthouses and local amenities. It's relatively compact, making it easy to get around on foot. The kasbah, a historic fortified village, is a prominent feature and offers a glimpse into traditional architecture. The main road, N12, runs through the town and provides access to shops and eateries.

For couples looking for a cultural experience, staying near the kasbah is ideal. Many guesthouses here are traditional renovations, offering a unique insight into local life. You can easily explore the ancient mud-brick structures and enjoy the quiet evenings.

Solo travellers will also appreciate the central location for its convenience.
When is the best time to go to Nekob?
The best time to go to Nekob is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, with daytime temperatures typically ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius. This makes it ideal for exploring the kasbahs and palm groves without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter evenings. You'll find the conditions great for outdoor activities like trekking in the nearby Jbel Saghro mountains or camel rides.

Travellers looking for comfortable sightseeing and outdoor adventures will appreciate these shoulder seasons. The milder temperatures mean you can comfortably spend more time outside, whether you're visiting the local markets or simply relaxing in a riad courtyard.
