The negatives were for us that the bed was a bit hard and the bathroom a bit dated. In saying that this is a traditional hotel and has wonderful history. Bar area very comfortable with good atmosphere and attentive staff. We were lucky to see deer on our way to dinner in town and from our balcony on the lowest floor of the new building. The hotel has amazing history (Einstein, Japan Royal family, Vaclav Havel .. and many other dignitaries stayed in the hotel over its long history). Hotel itself by now is bit dated, but it has amazing architecture and it is very traditional with beautiful wooden panelings, great bar and garden restaurant - we liked it very much even if we think that JR (Japanese railway company, which owns the hotel currently) should invest a bit into its refit. carets are dated and airconditioning was really noisy.
