The room was spotlessly clean and what an experience, staying in such an amazing old building. The staff were extremely friendly and polite and turned on the lights in the church for us to have a private viewing on our first evening.
The hotel is located within a beautiful church/museum. Very central so getting around the city is super easy. Would recommend the bar just outside where we had a few drinks on a few of the nights. Staff were also very helpful.
Would highly recommend for anyone travelling to Naples!
The hotel is within a museum, I mean whats not to like?? It was so unique. We checked in and were shown to the rooms.
Then we had time to walk around the museum. The staff were very friendly and informative.
The rooms were beautiful and spacious. One of the rooms had excellent air conditioning, the other one just wouldn't cool the room down sufficiently.
You can walk to the main areas from the hotel, with lots of places to eat a lovely breakfast.
We had a fabulous stay
Amazing hotel in a museum with beautiful courtyard. Staff was very helpful - carried our luggage up the stairs. Room was spacious and clean. Check-in was difficult to schedule with our schedule because there is not a front desk staffed all the time and entry locked.
Our stay here was sublime. The room is great and the whole space is marvellous. There are a significant number of stairs to climb before reaching the room, but it is worth it.
The Director of Santa Maria La Nova is extremely helpful and will provide helpful information and make you feel at home.
amazing 13th centuary monastery with cathedrals, art, and dracula's tomb. great location from which to explore historic city. my stay was perfect, i highly recommend it.
one caution is that there is no ljft and rooms are on 4th floor. wasnt an issue for me.
One of the best stays. Fantastc location.
If you are looking for something different ,this is the place to come . Its position is inside the Santa Maria La Nova museum!
Surrounded by art ,we were at the top floor (no elevator ) but it was worth it !Clean spacious room.lovely court yard view. No breakfast offered but right ouside the main door there is a lovely cafe .
Perfect for coffee or Aperol spritz!!!
This is one of the coolest hotels I've stayed at as it is right in the middle of the museum. The staff were really friendly and the room was always clean. The shutters made the room pitch black which we loved! The only thing I would say is the rooms are on the top floor and there is no lift, not a problem for us but may be an issue for anyone with mobility problems. It was close to two really great strips full of market stalls, shops and restaurants. Would stay here again if I was travelling to Naples.
we were late arriving so getting in was a struggle. otherwise the place was spectacular, our room clean and quiet. we wud def recommend anyone to stay here (unless u cant go up and down 4 flights of stairs)
The property is stunning and very unique - a ‘bed and museum’ concept which I’ve never seen before.
The bedroom was beautiful and I had the best night sleep thanks to having a room facing the internal courtyard area of the museum - I believe there are also rooms facing the front of the property where there are bars with outdoor seating and likely to be much noisier.
In the evenings (post 5pm), you let yourself in through the huge front doors and are unlikely to see any staff.
Note - there are a lot of stairs to carry luggage and therefore not likely to be suitable for people with lots of heavy luggage.
We were not provided with any information upon checkin, including any information about how to access the property after 5pm, whether we were permitted to explore the museum in the evening or any information about the area - it was a very, very basic check in and was not welcoming at all - but that would be my only critique of the stay.
Should I be in Naples again, I would stay at this property.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Overall this place is great. Where else can you stay inside of a museum?? Room 5 was huge as was the bathroom. Beds were extremely cozy. A/C was comfortable. Mini bar was reasonable. The place was clean but has an old look to it. It’s an older building and they preserve its integrity. The location is central and easy to get to from the port or the train station. Lots to see on the area, bars and restaurants galore. Some things I could see other travelers not liking, but that were ok by me were. No 24 hr desk and very limited staff overall, no elevator, it’s on a street that taxis can not drive up, the shower pressure was a bit weak, the shower also did not have a light inside the stall. Despite these little things we had a blast and a great stay. The bar in the courtyard out front was also fantastic and served as our “lobby” bar so to speak.
VERY interesting place to stay, if you’re an art fan or museum this is the place for you, lots of stuff to discover in this hotel. A little complicated to find especially if you arrive late but very beautiful and clean. (Lots of stairs to climb, no elevator so beware for big luggage)
Loved this unique place to stay. Was very quiet. Was able to explore the museum portion after hours. Only drawback was that there were 4 flights of stairs to climb to our room with no air conditioning. Once we got to our room though it was nice and cool. My teen loved that we got to stay where vlad the impaler might be buried.
Our bathroom sink & shower both did not drain and were overflowing. The shower products were opened and half used. The shower also didn’t look cleaned. There was a wedding on the property that went late into the night with music blasting and a guy screaming into a mic, even with ear plugs we couldn’t sleep. We called the front desk just to politely ask when the wedding would be ending (not even a complaint, just asking) and they hung up on us after we asked and didn’t pick up after that. We won’t be returning/recommending.
