The Lodge has a very cozy, rustic feel. Its comfortable, spacious rooms have pleasant tones, and are decorated with a lot of wood, providing plenty of little shelves & nooks for your stuff. Bedding is clean & comfortable, shower has proprietary soap & shampoo, also on sale at the front desk. It's no surprise that it was the first hotel in the area to certify Green. There's a small bar/restaurant on premises, a kitchenette, as well as a large living room that opens into a terrace. You can purchase food from a nearby (5-7 min walk) market, then eat it at the hotel; they provide utensils & free beverages (water, tea, coffee). It's very convenient, there's plenty of space, a bunch of books & magazines, even mosquito repellent. The manager is very nice. During our stay, the street in front of the hotel (as well as other parts of the city close to the river) got severely flooded. The weather reports predicted more rains, so he decided it would be best to shut down the hotel. He did his absolute best to notify me, offered a refund without being asked for one, and drove his SUV through the flooded street to another hotel that I booked online. He was very helpful throughout the entire ordeal and kept apologizing. Overall, the Lodge is really comfortable with a vibe of a friendly international hostel, yet featuring all the privacy/comfort you'd expect from a hotel. Green, down-to-earth feel, along with an adequate price made this a perfect stay despite capricious weather.
