Amazing
Perfect cottage across the street from beach access. Watched sunrise every morning, location near excellent restaurants and activities. Extremely clean and outdoor shower is my favorite!! Also added bonus to be able to bring my fur baby and she has her own fenced in space.

Pleasant convenient house
This house is small, not fancy, but comfortable and informally decorated. Everything works, and the kitchen is new. I booked last minute after another trip fell through. The owner was very helpful in getting this done quickly! The house is at ground level--absolutely no steps if you have (like I do) a bad knee. The beach is just across the road and a dune--you can't see the ocean but there is easy access. Close to a lot of things! I had a nice couple days there. I found the combination dog-pooping area and picnic table/grill odd and unappealing. Maybe dog owners would see it differently!

Hello Julie, I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. We have the grill and picnic table inside the fenced in yard for this house and one other house because this is the only place for us to have these items. We have no other spot for them at these 2 houses and then the other 2 houses these items are in the parking spot. I have never had someone or anyone tell me that it was odd to have these 2 items in the location were they are at. Most people think that it is convenient that everything is in one place because they kids or pets can run around and play while the adults grill and set up for dinner or lunch. I hope that we do see you come back for another stay!

Relaxing
The cottage was great especially with our 2 dogs. The yard was great to let them into for play & doing their “business”. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The only issue was the mattress on the queen bed was too soft & you tend to roll to the middle. The walk to the beach was easy & crossing street wasn’t bad as traffic was light. We will be back!

So happy you enjoyed your stay. We buy our mattresses in the middle of the road between soft and firm. I just spoke with the store where we get them, and was told the ones we buy are the most popullar in all the rental houses in the area. Unfortunately, some people say they are too soft and some say they are too firm. It's a personal preference and we do our best to please all. Karen W COO

Perfect space for a family getaway
We had an absolute blast staying here. Great location with easy access to the beach. Property was clean and well-maintained. Was planned as a group outing with multiple families also renting other units, and did not disappoint. Looking forward to returning!

Perfect house for two retirees with a dog. We had been to several and this was the BEST!
We like to take extended get-a-ways with our Service Dog and have tried several in OBX. My husband has MS and we look for easy access, no steps, fenced in yard and screened porch. This had it ALL! We will definitely be returning to Four Winds #4!

Short trip
Our group have visited the OBX areas two - three times a year for over 49 years during the summer. This trip was a last minute decision and first time in March. We were blessed with mostly nice weather. Stayed in Winds Four #4 cottage and found the cottage very cozy, clean and relaxing. Only one night did we have problems with a group in house nearby who started with a very loud party and music around 11:00 pm that went solid until 4:00 am the next morning. However, that is not the fault of the company that we worked with. Rentals on the Ocean had everything at the cottage in perfect condition and were very easy to work with.

Perfect for a family of 3 and 2 dogs!!
We were just looking for a small place, close to the beach, with enough yard for 2 dogs and this cottage was perfect. The price was very reasonable and the location couldn’t have been better. The fenced yard was the true selling point, though! And it came in handy, as it rained for 3 of our 4-day stay, lol. We were able to let the dogs into the yard to do their thing and not stand in the pouring rain, ourselves. Comfy couches, great kitchen, surprisingly spacious bedrooms…it was great!

Perfect fit for us
The house is an older house, but very clean and had absolutely everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The location is great and we had our fur baby with us. The little fenced in back yard was more than adequate for him to be able to go out when he wanted. The furniture was comfortable and in great condition. The mattress on the bed was also comfortable. We don't have anything negative to say about the experience. Thank you

Perfect for what we needed!
Great 2 night stay in November. 1 adult, one teen and a 35 pound dog. Easy to get to in Nags Head as soon as you get on island. Public beach access (with parking) very close to house. Interior was very clean. New kitchen very well stocked. Shower had really good pressure and plenty of hot water. Good little fenced side yard made letting dog out to potty very easy. We will be going back asap.

Long Weekend Getaway
This is small but very cute and clean cottage. Proximity to the beach was excellent. We had a great time even though the weather wasn't. Foosball table was a great idea and really fun. Kitchen was well equipped too. Only negatives were the small shower and the yard which was mostly dirt. There are four of these cottages and we would definitely stay in one of them again.

Nice cottage for a couple with an awesome fenced-in lot for bringing a dog. My only dislike was the private beach access was a little rough climbing down the sand dunes. We ended up walking down to the public access for an easier entry.

Nice for pets
If you have a pet this is the place. Nice little yard for dogs. The TV if you aren't use to a ROKU is a little tricky but after a lot of messing around and signing into our provider we got what we wanted. This is about a block off the beach but is a short walk. Was very clean. We rented through VBRO and was told sheets etc. came with it. Just watch out when the rental company contacts you because it can be confusing when their Amenity package comes up which basically wants you to pay for what VBRO tells you that you get with the price. Was just an email to the rental company to confirm we didn't have to get the extra stuff was included. Overall was a good stay, quiet, clean and very pet friendly.

Very clean and cozy cabin
I have to compliment whoever cleans for this rental unit. I have used VBRO many times and this was the cleanest place we have ever stayed. I hope it is like this all the time. The porch and picnic table could use paint and the outside walls need power wash. I would definitely visit there again. The house is very comfortable, in cluding the bed. The kitchen has everything you need. It took us awhile to figure out the TV. There are three, we only used one. The area is very quiet and feels very safe. There are many things to do in the area. We were there in March it was fairly quiet and not everything is open. We found 3 amazing restaurants, for each night we were there. I am sure it's hopping in the summer. I loved the house and the area. It was great to be able to have our dog there.

Family Vacation
Location was excellent. Close to stores yet very private and quiet. The short walk to the private beach was a bonus. Property was exactly how it was described and the check in and out process was extremely easy. The family all had a great time. Will definitely stay here again. Perfect for a small group.

Nice location
We did a short mid week visit to Nags Head and limited on budget this cottage was amazing. Everything you needed was provided. It was important to have a fenced in yard for our dog. Even though he had issues walking on the floors (he is like this everywhere we go) We all loved the beach. Would stay here again.

Four Winds Cottage 4
The pictures just don't convey how cute these cottages really are! We enjoyed our stay, loved the short walk to the beach and enjoyed cooking on the grill and sitting outside at the picnic table for dinner. Love that they are pet friendly, even though we didn't bring our pup this trip. Very clean and are supplied with everything you could possibly need. Great job providing for renters! Thank you!

Great cottage...great location!
We stayed in Four Winds 4 and it was perfect for the 3 of us plus our furry, 4-legged friend. The cottage is very cozy with everything you need to be comfortable...great sofa and love seat in the living room, very comfortable beds, and 4 chairs on the screened porch ready for relaxing in the sea breeze without the bother of bugs. The walk down to the beach is easy and not far. We greatly appreciated the private walkway. The beach was not crowded and very clean. The area is quiet and private, perfect for an R&R getaway; but still close enough to shops and restaurants. We were very pleased with the size and location of the cottage for us. We will stay there again for future OBX vacations!

Comfortable Stay
Comfortable, clean, convenient to the beach. A bit of a walk to shops, restaurants, though. Easy to communicate with property manager. Recommend that they install a better clothesline either on the porch or outside for wet towels, bathing suits, etc.
