Enjoy a 2-minute walk to the beach on a private access road THIS LISTING IS FOR THE DOWNSTAIRS GROUND FLOOR UNIT ONLY. 1 Bedroom and 1 bath with shower. This is a BASIC, older apartment - nothing fancy - on the ground floor (below sea level). It has baseboard heat and a window unit air conditioning and a basic kitchen - probably not suitable for cooking extensive meals but great for basic needs. A good place to unwind after a day at the beach, fishing, or other outdoor activities. It is listed with a max occupancy of 2 people, but families with up to 2 children can be accommodated on a case by case basis if providing own bedding and with advance permission. Permission MUST be given IN ADVANCE. No exceptionsA separate detached three-bedroom unit upstairs is available on its own or with the downstairs as one house. Please read the entire listing before booking! The space THIS LISTING IS FOR THE DOWNSTAIRS APARTMENT ONLY. Smell and hear the ocean just over the dune. This is a classic Old Nags Head beach cottage with two separate units - upstairs three bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and downstairs one bedroom, one bath - both with full but older kitchens - and living areas. THIS IS DOWNSTAIRS ONLY. Please note that parking is very limited. The downstairs unit has only 1 dedicated parking space if the upstairs is occupied. Guest access This listing is downstairs ONLY. Outdoor common areas (hose and outdoor shower) and laundry room may be shared with other guests if the upstairs is occupied. This unit only has parking for 1 car or regular size SUV or truck. No on-street parking. Other things to note 2 adults maximum. Please message us beforehand if you are a family bringing children (2 maximum). Permission must be given in advance. If you were instant booking, please do not book with more than two adults without our permission. We will not allow the booking . Again. If you are more than two adults and are bringing children, you must ask for permission in advance No additional bedding will be provided, but there is space for you to bring your own air mattress(es). You may have to clean the grill if the last guests did not clean it as is courtesy. Our cleaners do NOT clean the grills. Charcoal is NOT an amenity we provide, but many guests leave some behind as a "pay it forward" gesture, so you may find some but you are responsible for your charcoal needs. In The unit has baseboard heat and an older window style a/c setup. - nothing fancy! It also has a dehumidifier that you may have to empty if full. We thank you in advance for your assistance with this. Please note that the wood paneling and the age and proximity to the ocean can have a unique "cottage" smell. We do run a dehumidifier which you may have to empty during your stay. We assume you read this note before booking. Thank you! PLEASE BE COURTEOUS OF NOISE AND PARKING WHILE OTHER GUESTS ARE IN RESIDENCE. We do have a camera on the house that is motion activated and has a spotlight to monitor parking. The cottage was exactly as advertised. It was perfect for us and our dog. Location is great, beach access is right out the door. The owners of the property were over the top helpful and responsive. The home was very well kept and it takes 2 minutes to walk to the beach access. The outdoor shower was fantastic for coming off the beach. And is private enough to actually shower outside if you desires a I did as I am 6’3 sometimes it’s easier. It was quite warm during our visit and the AC window unit kept the bottom floor quite cool and the humidifier was a great touch because you could actually feel dry after coming inside from a day on the beach. I cooked 3 meals and breakfasts in there and had everything I needed. The laundry room was great and worked fantastically. You’re minutes (.4 miles) from a beach bar that’s really great atmosphere suggested by the owner of the property I highly suggest renting this location. 10/10 rating! ##### Aubrey B. There is enough room to add a second bed to the bedroom. AC didn't reach bedroom as much as living room, but fans in bedroom helped. One fan is broken but fan over the bed was working well. Bathroom is small but not bad for family of 4\. Lots of shelf space in bedroom. Not fancy but works well for a casual beach trip. I'd stay there again! ##### Liz G. It is a short walk to the beach, which was so nice as we were able to come and go all day long. The room is a nice size for a 1 bedroom and it felt very clean. ##### Renee M.
